this was amazing. it was really hot out this particular day, so we took refuge by seeing Batman at the biggest theater in Thailand. the introduction to the movie had a laser projected animation with this face explaining how IMAX works. at one point the backlit the screen to show how tiny the holes were, and exposing the sound system behind it.

IMAX® Theater at The Science Place
1318 Second Avenue in Fair Park
Dallas, Texas 75210
The Science Place's IMAX® Theater, opened June 15, 1996, is a collection of architectural as well as cinematic marvels. The entrance to the theater is flanked by two "floating staircases" rising above a black terrazzo rendering of the solar system displayed throughout the theater lobby. The rendering of the solar system includes eleven constellations, a depiction of Hailey's Comet, as well as a movable markers indicating constellations visible in the night sky. The constellations are beautifully depicted with flecks of mother-of-pearl and other colorful gemstones.
