Don't wanna be an American idiot!
Don't want a nation under the new media
And can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mind fuck America!
Alright!
Welcome to a new kind of tension
All across the alien nation
Where everything isn't meant to be okay
Television dreams of tomorrow
We're not the ones who're meant to follow
For that's enough to argue
What idiot says you can't have a human in a landscape shot?
Stood at the start of the path through Glen Etive
We were heading up to Glencoe when I spotted all the cloud around the mountains, when I asked for permission to throw the car into the next layby. I did this despite the crater sized potholes and immediately saw this bloke up on a bank. In a flash I was out the car, feet never touching the surface of the water which surrounded the car and firing shots from the hip in a spray from left to right to grab the pano before he had time to move. Sort of.
Anyway, a suggestion: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhidA1jEUjo
What is one thing the average driver can't stand? Well of course one answer could be a slow driver in the fast lane, Highway Patrol posted up in the most annoying spot possible, or maybe even that damn check engine light. However, the answer I was looking for was waiting for a train, and during this trip for the crew of a southbound, they would see three cars try to beat the train. One was a truck just south of Maxwell, which a buddy and I saw, another in Arbuckle, and then another here just outside Williams. However, this driver was particularly stupid.
Although my friend and I didn't see this happen as we were taking photos at the time, another friend who was one of the crew members explained to me what happened. As the train was approaching the crossing, a white SUV went around the gates in an attempt to beat the train, but then suddenly stopped. Although there was nobody in front of this car, whoever was driving then proceeded to backup almost into the gate, and due to the angle of the crossing got within only a few feet at most of being hit, narrowly avoiding an expensive and embarrassing trip to the auto shop. The crew obviously was pissed, and the conductor got out to yell at the driver as they passed by. It was only after the power had passed that my friend and I on the ground noticed the SUV, and we laughed knowing well that driver probably needed a new pair after that.
Is not her name, her real name is Dust Bunny. And she's the cutest thing alive.
My place, November 2021.
Very early, very windy and very cold, but nothing was keeping this person from a selfie. Luckily the young are beyond danger - even when sitting outside the barrier. Just please... don't sneeze.
(Very impressed with Pure Raw's improvement on this one. The details really jumped up and the noise vanished)

Sand dunes at Porto Pino. South Sardinia.
They have become a tourist attraction, so the idiots write their epitaph on the sand.
(You can see other pictures of these dunes in my album "Dunes" - link in this page below at right)
i'm yet again unsure weather to upload this but it was so much hassle i'm going too, the is not as much done on PS as it looks, i flipped one eye over to get pattern even and got rid of texture around mouth and added a couple of sparkles to head phones, it was very painful to have mud that close to my eye's with layers of paint over i am an idiot and should of added texture on PS in stead of doing it for real!!!! i have to say all so i haven't seen avatar and this is nothing to do with it i just love that colour.
Taken when the temps were in negative numbers, an ice fisherman patiently waits for a nibble.
I was thinking, what kind of idiot sits on the ice and fishes when it's below zero. He was thinking, what kind of idiot stands out in below zero weather and takes pictures of ice fishing? LOL!!
"Keep this area clear"... bah... don't they know i'm a rebel who's all about breaking the rules!!! so there... for some reason...
thanks to lepiaf.geo for recording my rebellion!!!
This sign in the boat parking area at Tinchi Tamba Wetlands says it all. A reflection on a section of today's society. Need I say more?
Copper theft is rampant these days, the railways suffer badly from it because electrics tend to be needed along tracks for signalling and points and sports clubs who have overhead lighting are another long suffering target.
I recently had the pleasure to sell a picture to Paul Rosa, a fantastic humor writer. And if you have not seen his book it can be purchased on Amazon at www.amazon.com/Idiot-Letters-Paul-Rosa/dp/038547508X/sr=8...
I want to let you know Paul besides being a great writer is a very kind person. He sent me an autographed book, which was a pleasant surprise to receive.
Every once in a while I do make a sale from my flickr account, mainly from people who just send me a flickr mail. I do appreciate it. And I hope if others would do this I might be able to afford a DSLR. I have also sold pictures in ads for magazines. And I have been approached to sell some pictures for a power point presentation for a hand bell choir.
Some of my pictures are currently on sale in downtown Lynchburg also. If you would like to support my photography, it is much appreciated: send me a flickr mail.
Photography is my passion, Unfortunately, I cannot pursue it as avidly as I would like. I operate on a very small budget.
And a little hint, my pro account is about ready to expire. If you feel in your heart to to give a gift of a pro account. I will gladly send you an 8x10 picture of your choosing in my photo stream.
And thanks to all for those who visit. It is indeed a pleasure that you enjoy my humble offerings.
Warmest regards
bob
Black-necked Grebe. I visited St Aidens RSPB reserve again today and got some nice pictures in good light. However I have only one Black-necked Grebe image to show since I managed to delete the same from my hard drive and compact disc at the same time! Where do I collect the idiot award ? :( The above image was taken several days ago on a crappy light day.
I just stamped the bloddy f... idiot who jumped into the picture when I took it - and this idiot was the very same one taking lots of pictures of his girlfriend in the graves we where visiting before - off course with flash and without any respect for other people (you can not see anything after a flash explodes in the middle of a room without any light) or for the old place (the color remained visible the last 4000 years, but after a few thousand flashes nothing will be left of it ...)

Poster celebrating Brexit on the wall of a factory that has now closed because they couldn't afford to export their goods to the EU anymore. Absolute fucking idiots, ruined so much for all of us.
On my last trip to the Smokies, I decided to pay a visit to the Roaring Fork Motor Trail. It had rained off and on that day and with cloudy skies, I thought some nice shots of the stream could be gotten. Not long after I got on the one way section, it began sprinkling. Then, in almost an instant, it got really dark and those sprinkles turned into a deluge. The rain let up a little, as I neared this location. When I got to it, I looked at my camera and said, come on, we've got time for a quickie. I made my way over to this location and snapped a few frames. While I was there, a few other cars drove through, and they all seemed to slow to a near stop when they got close to me. I'm sure they were aghast seeing me holding an umbrella in one hand and trying to operate my camera with the other. I'm also sure they all thought I was an idiot for getting out in that kind of weather. Oh, the things we do for a photograph.
