A little house set in the idillic countryside of Sussex, minimum repairs required to house or garden.
Many Thankyou's for browsing at my work, I am so appreciative of comments and awards given to me. Nothing is wasted.
Another Thursday, another pond, this time at Bramshill Common. Fresh from reasonable success photographing a damselfly there were hints that the sky might colour for sunset. This pond (which incidentally looks like a face from the air - the 2 eyes are the islands in this picture) is surrounded by trees with a few opens large enough to afford a clear view. This is facing north, so less than ideal for the sunset (indeed, most of the action seemed to be going on behind me). However, the sky did colour up for a few minutes and the calm water rendered some pleasing reflections. In addition, the low sunlight was catching the tops of the trees. All in all, not too shabby!

Wawel Castle's immaculate arcaded Courtyard of great dimensions formed the ideal setting for tournaments and various court events over the centuries. This courtyard is regarded to be the largest and most beautiful Renaissance castle courtyard in Europe. The building surrounding the courtyard are the State Rooms, Royal Private Apartments and the Crown Treasury and Armory and have running three-story cloister, the lowest part are arcaded. In addition, there are carved portals, picturesque exterior stairwells and mural paintings.
The Wawel Royal Castle is a castle residency located in central Kraków, Poland, and the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in the world. Built at the behest of King Casimir III the Great, it consists of a number of structures from different periods situated around the Italian-styled main courtyard. Wikipedia
The castle is part of a fortified architectural complex erected atop a limestone outcrop on the left bank of the Vistula River, at an altitude of 228 metres above sea level. The complex consists of numerous buildings of great historical and national importance, including the Wawel Cathedral where Polish monarchs were crowned and buried. Some of Wawel's oldest stone buildings can be traced back to 970 AD, in addition to the earliest examples of Romanesque and Gothic architecture in Poland.[5][6] The current castle was built in the 14th-century, and expanded over the next hundreds of years. In 1978 Wawel was declared the first World Heritage Site as part of the Historic Centre of Kraków.
For centuries the residence of the kings of Poland and the symbol of Polish statehood, Wawel Castle is now one of the country's premier art museums. Established in 1930, the museum encompasses ten curatorial departments responsible for collections of paintings, including an important collection of Italian Renaissance paintings, prints, sculpture, textiles, among them the Sigismund II Augustus tapestry collection, goldsmith's work, arms and armor, ceramics, Meissen porcelain, and period furniture. The museum's holdings in oriental art include the largest collection of Ottoman tents in Europe. With seven specialized conservation studios, the museum is also an important center for the conservation of works of art.

Ideal Tammy Doll. I bought this doll 7 years ago at a thrift store for $5 in Tennessee (I had put her away in storage quickly after and I recently rediscovered her) and I got around to restoring her yesterday. I definitely would love to have a few more in my collection including her foreign counterparts like Sindy and Susi.

Excerpt from www.ward26.ca: On May 5, Council approved the Street Art Initiative to place a mural on the underpass located on Eglinton Avenue just east of Leslie Street.
This highly visible, graffiti-plagued underpass near the Lexus on the Park and the Ontario Science Centre merges together the entranceway to the communities of Flemingdon Park, Leaside and Wynford. It will be brought to life with a work of public art covering both sides of the underpass. The mural’s theme is modern transportation and technology within a Canadian natural landscape.
An exciting aspect of this mural is that it will support three artistically under-served neighbourhoods and engage youth who will assist with the mural’s planning, design and execution.
Excerpt from www.muralroutes.ca: The TERRA STRAT’AA is the second landmark mural painted by MEDIAH for the City of Toronto. The project was painted and installed on the railway underpass on Eglinton Ave in an area filled with wildlife, lush vegetation and parks. The project concept entitled ‘Naturo-Dynamism’ entails the symbiosis between nature and technology and their coexistence within the same space. This was inspired by the Eglinton Crosstown lightrail system which is being built just 500 metres away from the site.
TERRA STRAT’AA – ‘NEOSTRAT’AA’
South Side
80ft X 17.5ft
The South side of the underpass entitled ‘NEOSTRAT’AA’ is inspired by the flight and migration patterns of Canada geese in their natural habitat of the surrounding area. The complex artwork is the result of the dynamics of Geese in flight while mimicing the mechanical movement of their urban surroundings.
TERRA STRAT’AA – ‘PROSTRATA’
North Side
80ft X 17.5ft
The North sde of the underpass entitled ‘PROSTRAT’AA’ is inspired by avionics and aircraft while hovering and connecting to the natural landscape below. The mechanical compoenents of the piece are driven by the presence of Canada geese in marshlands similar to the ones located only a few metres behind the site. While the South side is heavily inspired by the flight patterns of Canada geese which dominate the area, the North side shows the technological ideal of aircraft built and controlled by birds.
This week for Photography and mentally wise has not been the greatest. I somewhat struggled this week, Pretty much I didn't like any of the photos I took to post for this project. They weren't bad but not ideal for the 52 in my opinion.
Good night and Good luck
Hi my name is Mark. I am looking for a mate to complete me. My ideal mate will like to snuggle, be comforting, and enjoy long walks. Also must love penguins! My friends say that I am warm and fuzzy and I will be great paired with you! To respond please comment below.
I've been trying to edit some of these lynx photos, to finesse them, as they were taken under less than ideal circumstances. Sadly they would only print to a 4 x 6 size. After that they are too grainy. Just seeing this wonderful cat was definitely a highlight for me, though!
The Ideal City of the US was painted by American artist Matt Mullican, whose work has often dealt with the interaction between public sign systems and personal symbols.

In Lyon the walls tell stories, mostly very tall tales. While painting on walls is as old as time, the city has taken the art of modern urban wall painting to new heights with nearly 60 outdoor murals. Some are breathtaking flights of fancy; others are marvelous examples of trompe l'oeil, depictions of everyday life so realistic you could almost walk into them.
The murals produced by CitéCréation were designed not just as decoration but to help the people of Lyon rediscover their local identity, to trace the history of a particular quartier, or district, and to make art accessible to everyone. One of the best examples is the Musée Urbain Tony Garnier. The outdoor "museum" comprises 30 huge murals, painted on the buildings of an HLM (Habitation à Loyer Modéré) a low-rent housing project in the Etats-Unis district of Lyon.
The apartment buildings were originally designed by French architect Tony Garnier between 1920 and 1933, part of his dream of a modern, industrial urban utopia. But by the 1980s the district was in trouble, and drugs and violence were rife. In a bid to rehabilitate the area, the residents contacted CitéCréation, and work on the murals began soon after. It was a major success. "It completely transformed the quartier," says Bensaïd. "You can stop anyone on the street there and the response will be unanimous. It has given something back to the residents—pride—a word that can be both terrible and very beautiful. When we give pride to a space, a space which didn't exist for the rest of the town before, for the media, we feel we have succeeded." The surrounding district was renamed Cité Tony Garnier.
A dozen or so of the Musée Urbain murals—each some 2,500 square feet—are gigantic views of an industrial city rich with collective housing, schools, factories and clinics. A few of the murals show some of Garnier's other architectural contributions to Lyon, including the Abattoirs de la Mouche, a huge covered meat market with a ceiling of intricate metal arches. And eight of them show conceptions of the ideal city by eight artists, each from a different country: India, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Russia, Mexico, China, Canada and the United States.

"Du monde entier, des milliers de visiteurs viennent chaque année à Hauterives. Ce ne sont pas tant les ruines du château médiéval qui les attirent que ce fabuleux palais aux allures de temple khmer. Ils rendent ainsi hommage à un homme étonnant, le facteur Cheval, un paysan selon lui, qui prouva à force de volonté que ce n'est pas la culture qui fait l'art, mais la qualité du rêve et le courage de l'accomplir." I shot this last week on a less than ideal night for light. The clouds were spectacular, but the colour never really developed into anything great. As a result, I thought I’d process a Black & White.
This is a blend of 2 exposures (and possibly a polarizer but I don’t remember for sure!)
Zig and zag - A dark and ominous sky over the Firth of Forth provides the ideal moody backdrop to a long exposure of 'The blocks', the iconic zig zag breakwater on the outer harbour wall at St Monans.
Although conditions were fairly rough at the time with waves frequently crashing over the breakwater, the long exposure paints a deceptive sense of calm of the turmoil below.
