Some thoughts on Cyclopic Bricks as usually.
While meandering through these woods on Friday, marvelling at how destructive, at least in the short term logging is to an eco system I stumbled across this small uprooted tree. I love the way the roots are assembled, giving the feel of a structure rather than something more natural. I imagine the pixies taking shelter in here while all around them, the woods they are inhabiting and caring for are torn asunder by the demands of men.
On a side note its nice to get some warmer weather here in the UK this week. Clear blue skies are not ideal for my kind of photography but at least I can relax in the sun in my back garden for a couple of hours while I try to get over my second bout of tonsillitis in three weeks!

Another Thursday, another pond, this time at Bramshill Common. Fresh from reasonable success photographing a damselfly there were hints that the sky might colour for sunset. This pond (which incidentally looks like a face from the air - the 2 eyes are the islands in this picture) is surrounded by trees with a few opens large enough to afford a clear view. This is facing north, so less than ideal for the sunset (indeed, most of the action seemed to be going on behind me). However, the sky did colour up for a few minutes and the calm water rendered some pleasing reflections. In addition, the low sunlight was catching the tops of the trees. All in all, not too shabby!

I would love to find this house at a flea market. I think I did once, but it was in such terrible shape that it was not worth buying for whatever the price was.
I think I could make that stove/sink unit. I just need to get rid of this job of mine!

Ideal Tammy Doll. I bought this doll 7 years ago at a thrift store for $5 in Tennessee (I had put her away in storage quickly after and I recently rediscovered her) and I got around to restoring her yesterday. I definitely would love to have a few more in my collection including her foreign counterparts like Sindy and Susi.
While this shot was very exciting to get, the distance haze and the limitation of the single lens I had on the trip did unfortunately result in something softer and less detail rich than ideal. Nonetheless, better to take the shot than not, especially when the conditions were this remarkable around the mountain.
