THE FUTURE OF MOBILITY
A revolution is underway. Conventional modes of transportation are being disrupted by internet-based services and platforms. Connected, smart, and energy-efficient are no longer buzzwords, having become common features. Trailblazers at the center of transportation innovation will discuss emerging trends and the digital technologies that will soon govern how and what we use to get to our final destination and all points in between.

While completing his undergraduate degree, Michael Bolt, bottom right, served as sensor team captain for an Auburn team that competed in SpaceX’s Hyperloop pod design competition. Bolt helped to design and build a functioning scale model of the team’s lateral stability control system.
For Unit 45: Graphic Image Making I had to choose a future-based eco friendly form of transport. I chose the American-based idea of The Hyperloop: a train that floats by using electro magnets and is projected by air though a tube which can travel from Chicago to New York in around 35 minutes.
After choosing are future travel company our next task was to re-design a logo, this would be placed on a range promotional package from coffee cups to sandwich boxes. I designed approximately two hundred different logo variations using Adobe Illustrator employing a range of different techniques such as blending modes, effects and the pathfinder.
I used my research on the Hyperloop company to help influence the design of my logos, such as using a looped arrow and crossing 2 pieces of overlay text to represent two cities.

Well the small train must of been a giveaway of what we did yesterday...we went to the model train show at the Point Beach Energy Center...which also was the place of the toy tractor show as well. Of course I couldn't help myself noticing that the model of the GM Electro Motive Aerotrain was moving quite quickly in the speeds of some certain high speed train (Like the TGV, Shinkansen, Acela, ICE, Eurostar, X2000, some maglev trains, etc etc), but at least the train model wasn't moving as fast as the proposed "Hyperloop". Ouch.
