Hydrangea or Hortensia Flowers Forest in Asia

Hydrangea aspera - 4 juli 2011 - thuis - Nieuwkoop

This is a very striking plant that produces 6 to 8' flowers on vigorous shoots reaching up to 3 ft. Flowers open white in late July to August, aging to a blushed purple pink. Flowers grow on new wood of the season.

Height: 10-12 ft.

Light: sun to part shade

It is a childish hydrangea.

Two baskets of hydrangea were placed in the sanctuary at Dublin Street United Church on Easter Sunday in memory of my wife. Mary Jo passed away on November 15, 2021 after a long struggle with Parkinson’s. Her Interment took place on Thursday, April 14, 2022.

My paternal grandmother died three years ago this month. Before the family sold her house, mom and dad got pieces of her hydrangeas. They really like the soil in my parents' yard. This is the first year they really came to life.
