Hydrangea .

"But how could anyone who's ever seen a summer- big recordings of green and skies lit up electric with splashy sunsets, a riot of flowers and wind that smells like concert- pick the snow?"

Author: Lauren Oliver

A gift from Kate's mom and step-dad last year at our house warming party. Once we moved it into this larger pot it's doing much better.

Yesterday I tried to fold the molecule on the right. But I came out with the left. So early this morning I took again my Fujimoto book (bible) and tried to figure out why. Not so easy because of my very very bad Japanese :-) In fact, I should not have skipped a few pages. One molecule works already fine.

Normally, it should be ok next time. Let's see.

The fruits and flowers were eaten by early Hawaiians.

Etymology

The generic name Broussaisia was named in behalf of François-Joseph-Victor Broussais (1772-1838), a celebrated French physician and psycologist.

The specific epithet arguta means "sharp or sharp-tooted," likely referring to the sharp edges of the kanawao leaves.

I just LOVE these colors!! Couldn't decide which photo I liked best so I just posted 3 of them.

The Hydrangeas did very well this year, although in general the heads are smaller probably due to the hot summer.

Now some have been dried and form a lovely dash of colour in the room.

Hydrangea, the name, comes from the Greek words "hydro" or water, and "angeion," or vase = water vase, they prefer a lot of water.

A very ancient plant, found in fossils going back thousands of years.

Flower lovers will know that there is a flower language.

Every sentiment is expressed in one form or another by delicate blooms.

Of course, even the experts disagree on the "true meaning" of many flowers and most have different meanings to different people.

So, while all flowers convey thoughtfulness and love, a gift of flowers for a special someone will always create its own personal meaning, too.

HYDRANGEA - Thank You for Understanding.

Have a wonderful day and thank you for your comments with all my heart, M, (*_*)

Annabelle is a stunning white hydrangea, often producing heads over 10" in diameter. Unlike the better known blue and pink hydrangeas (macrophyllas), Annabelle blooms every year even after severe pruning or intensely cold winters. The huge, white "drumstick" blooms appear in profusion without fail. Annabelle is a stunning performer with huge white round flowers all summer long. Exceptional and enormous creamy flowerheads up to one foot across form billowy,

flattened spheres that withstand the rain well.
