The book is hand stitched by yours truly and elsewise created in InDesign. It has 76 pages and is lightly inspired by Norwegian famous author Knut Hamsun's book also called Hunger from 1890.
Day 20 of the Purdue Hunger Strike to end sweat-shop production of Purdue apparel: This photo is taken of the picket which took place after the rally, the march, the meeting, and the press reports. President Jischke will not sign the Designated Suppliers Program, leaving the students to carry on with their hunger strike. It is hour three of the day's events, and the hunger-striking students still have energy to walk these steps for half-an-hour--chanting, dancing. Incredible people.
Advocates across the state Hundreds converged on the capital for Hunger Action Day to urge legislators and the governor to "Tear Down the Wall of Poverty"
Senator Holly Mitchell spoke to Hunger Action Day attendees encouraging them to keep the pressure on because to address poverty and hunger in our community.
The next day, May 14th advocates returned to speak to the media after Governor Brown's press conference on the revised budget.
