On a fire damaged building in Southchurch Avenue, Southend-on-Sea, Essex. Building totally destroyed by fire 14.04.17.

Being born in this beautiful city, of course there are many aspects of it I love.
You have to know, the people from Brugge are know for their creativity and HUMOUR!
So, walking around, I love discovering fun things that make you smile.
It often pays to look up too!
I spot this couple dancing, totally engrossed in each other… during the day? LOL
Figurines in a window, along a very busy frequented canal.

Soldiers astride a "Donnerbalken" catching up on some news before using the precious paper elsewhere.
I think this extract from Ernst Jünger's memoir, Storm of Steel is an appropriate accompanying narrative:
"9 November 1915, fifty paces behind the fortifications, in a rather poorly selected location is our latrine - a long beam supported on two trestles over a ditch. The men like to spend time there, either reading the paper or for companionship, in the manner of canaries, say. This is the font of all the various sinister rumours that course around the front, and that go by the name of 'bog talk'.
In one instance, admittedly, the cosiness is shattered by the fact that the place, while not overlooked by the enemy, is still vulnerable to fire over the low rise. If they aim just over the ridge, the bullets pass through the dip at chest height, and a man has to lie flat on the floor to be safe. So it sometimes happens that in the same session, two or three times, more or less clothed, you have to measure your length, to allow a machine-gun burst, like a musical scale, to pass over your head.
It's the occasion for all sorts of ribaldry, of course".

A sense of humour and fun is alive and well on country roads in the Outback. I spotted this priceless beauty on a bridge over Ironpot Creek in western New South Wales.

Un des rares exemplaires encore en activité, inventé par un curé, le Père Albert missel, qui avait eu des démêlés avec la justice à propos des mêlées de rugby pendant lesquelles on se crèpait le chignon....... !
Voix off : Tu arrêtes tout de suite, ou j'appelle Bernard Laporte qui s'y connait en matière de démêlage, et qui par ailleus se fait des cheveux à ton sujet .....!
....Etant le plus cher de toute l'Espagne, c'est peut être pour cela que l'on y rencontre des grosses légumes ...!
Un moment que je n'avais pas été au centre ville d'Auckland.
Pas mal de changements, des grues et des immeubles en constructions partout...
Et bien sur, il a fallu gérer le nombre croissant d'automobilistes, heureusement la mairie a bien fait les choses, en incitant les gens à ne pas prendre leurs voitures et en augmentant le nombre de bus, qui ont d'ailleurs leurs propres "bus lane"
De plus et comme on peut le voir sur ces photos ils ont particulièrement soignés quelques abribus, pour le plus grand plaisir de certains utilisateurs ! ;o)))
