Carlo's human explained that the outfit is a blend of Waldo and Santa Claus. He was happy that I wanted to make a portrait of Carlo and said "Maybe he will go viral on the internet. He would enjoy being famous."

This is probably my best shot of Tuesdays strawberry moon. It only looked like this for about 5 seconds, so if you weren't looking you would have missed it. I guess I was lucky!

This might have been inspired by an old movie. I'm not sure something fun to do last weekend

I know some will be ill with the Gerbers before it's over. Humor me.

Sólo hay que mirarlo. Allí tumbado en la calle, al acecho.

Humor Monastery located in Mănăstirea Humorului, about 5 km north of the town of Gura Humorului, Romania. It is a monastery for nuns dedicated to the Dormition of Virgin Mary, or Theotokos. It was constructed in 1530 by Voievod Petru Rareş and his chancellor Teodor Bubuiog. The monastery was built over the foundation of a previous monastery that dated from around 1415. The Humor monastery was closed in 1786 and was not reopened until 1990.

Humor was one of the first of Moldavia's painted monasteries to be frescoed and, along with Voroneţ, is probably the best preserved. The dominant colour of the frescoes is a reddish brown. The master painter responsible for Humor's frescoes, which were painted in 1535, is one Toma of Suceava.

The church has been inscribed by UNESCO on its list of World Heritage Sites, as one of the Painted churches of Moldavia.

"This is how to be cool. First you get some sunglasses. Next you get your parachute pants. Then you get a sweatband.

Last you go on the street."

Title borrowed from a similarly themed postcard. A rough translation is "Can there be anything more splendid than a soldier's life?"

Halloween week

A picture worth a thousand words. I recovered this image from a damaged CD that dated back to my newspaper days in the early 90s. Daily assignments back then included finding feature art that could stand alone as main art on section fronts.

I couldn't resist! I keep seeing these clever album cover in front of peoples faces thing on Explore and I just had to spoof it. I hope I haven't offended in giving Bruce a new body. Also, this model cost me a pretty penny, too!

Our Daily Topic - Humor

Elk taxidermy seems to have a pronounced smirk on his face. Lighting is poor, but it amused me.

Sturgis South Dakota

Soldiers of the 10th Armee somewhere on the eastern front. Based on the paper I think it dates to around 1917 (erster-weltkrieg.dnb.de/WKI/Content/DE/Objekte/03-01-zeit...)

The soldiers carrying a wide array of weapons. There are two types of ersatz bayonets, a 98/05 bayonet, trench club, axe and there is even a Mercator knife in there, great photo!

It was so cold that Mother Nature took pity on this bronze headed fellow.

The mist from the Falls settled on his head creating a hat or a really bad wig. Odd how the face escaped the misting.

Lots of ice and snow around here today. Stay warm

Es regnet schon die Nacht und heute Morgen. Freuen wir uns mit der Natur und tragen wir es mit Humor.

It's been raining the night and this morning. We look forward with nature and we carry it with humor.

Three of what I believe to be female redwing blackbirds seem to be quite confused as to what the snow on the ground was, as well they should be since redwing blackbirds should have migrated south long ago.
