This was shot hand held. The background color is from the Black-eyed Susans in the back corner of the yard.

This young hummingbird preens his wings in between his busy schedule of confrontations.

The flowers in this picture were taken prepandemic and the Humming Bird was provided by Aarn Giri, I thank him for his generosity.

Hum je poznat kao najmanji grad na svijetu (godine 2001.bilo je 17 stanovnika). Povijest Huma seže u rani srednji vijek. Grad je potpuno okružen zidinama i nije bilo mnogo gradnje izvan njih.

Hum is known as the smallest town in the world (in 2001 population was 17). Hum’s history starts in the earl medieval age. The town is completely surrounded with old walls and there was not much construction outside of them.

While doing multiflash with hummers I quickly changed my R5 to do 120fps video at the click of one button.

Shot I took of a humming bird than added the trees using a set of tree brushes.

I have been totally obsessed with hummingbirds for the last several weeks, trying frantically to get as many shots of them as possible before they migrate South for the Winter. This is the first of three that have just blown me away with surprise - and shock - at my luck.

The Hummers have arrived and are busy darting about from flower to flower...I got excited and had to take a pic-will try to get something clearer later! :-)

The Hummingbird Hawk-moth (Macroglossum stellatarum) is a species of hawk moth with a long proboscis, and regularly hovers, making an audible humming noise. These two features make it look remarkably like a hummingbird when it feeds on flowers, a result of convergent evolution.

It flies during the day, especially in bright sunshine, but also at dusk, dawn, and even in the rain, which is unusual for even diurnal hawkmoths. Its visual abilities have been much studied, and it has been shown to have a relatively good ability to learn colours.

All the Hummers are gone and same with my Pentax gear for wildlife photography. I hope I made the right decision but then again gear is just gear.

Working on my backyard hummers. Today was the first sunny day in a lot of heavy cloudy rainless ones. This bird cooperated somewhat by hanging near the feeder, but the feeder was in the shade. Thus the challenge - we ALL know sunlight is everything to get the hummer's iridescence. So, color here pretty much provided by the high-speed flash sync. And the yellow on its beak? I'd say "leftovers" from having its head in a real flower.
