This is the first time I was able to capture a photo of a humming bird. I'm so proud of myself! Funny thing, humming birds look a lot like squirrels.
Pretty sure I caught the juvenile. Mama yelled & yelled as he sat on the edge of the feeder, posing for me so nicely!

..................................................................................I cried when I saw this one! : )

Another 'lucky... was in the right place at the right time' shot. I was standing right by the hummingbird feeder on the first day of September last year, taking pics of the yellow jackets and bees drinking the sugar water nectar from it, when all of a sudden this hummingbird flew up to it, right in front of me.
I WAS SOOO EXCITED!!! I squelched down the excitement *just enough* to click away like crazy.
Most of the shots weren't any good, a couple were 'OK', and then there was this one. I cried when I
saw it.
I wasn't sure when I was going to post this, and then I just decided that this was the shot I wanted to start the new year with.

I just love these little birds and I spent all day trying to capture a decent photo of one. I took over 300 shots, not all of hummingbirds, but a large portion of them were. I had a problem with the exposure, because against the sky, all I got was a silhouette. I finally figured out I needed to use the flash......viola....that worked like a charm!!
Here are 3 I wanted to share with you.....just be thankful I didn't bore you with ALL of them!! lol
This morning my backyard was a freeway for the hummers... I think they were happy the rain had stopped and it was nice and clean outside. = )

Another shot from the North Rim. Only a record shot as I'd never seen a humming bird before . . that's my excuse & I'm sticking to it!!!!

Getting these little guys in focus any distance from where they perch is a real challenge. Starting to inch out the reach, but it is all about what plane they are in vis focused point. Working on capturing them mid-sky but not there yet. Really amazed with some of you visitors, for whom I am so grateful because I can look at your exif, for checking in.
When i was cleaning in our balcony, suddenly this humming bird drop by in the tree that is not so far from where i was cleaning. Luckily, i have my camera with me and so i captured it. But before that, i was thinking what if im going to use something as if it is like a frame or any thing that can make some foreground focus. So i use our paper vase..... hehehe ^_^ im so happy to captured it well in that angle :D
~sorry for the grammar ^_^
~hope u like it thanks
