Seems like you find them the most where you might expect them the least.

It's a little hard to imagine Mark Zuckerberg letting God handle his problems, or praising God for putting him in the position he's in as one of the richest, most powerful men on the planet.

Nancy Pelosi says she prays every day for the President, but I'm not sure praying he will choke to death on a hot dog qualifies as "praying"...

But people like this guy - the unwashed, deplorable, uneducated and faithful, who foolishly cling to their God and their guns, and who still love their country regardless of what the media tells them. These people are full of gratitude for the little they have, and they have no problem humbling themselves before their God.

In spite of having to scratch out living patching flats and reselling used tires and found hubcaps, most people in jobs like this are happy with what they have. And why not?

They don't have to worry that someone's going to hack their identity and steal their millions. They don't have to worry about finding a good pool guy or firing the maid. As long as there's food to eat and beer to drink.. As long as they have love at home and people need cheap tires, they'll be happy.

The Way of Philosophy according to Christ

"A holy combination: love and humility"

San Massimo the Confessor

The Devil has nothing in hatred as much as the love between brothers and sisters in Christ, harmony, peace, unity and harmony.

He is always vigilant, plotting the most incredible actions, in order to break the spiritual bonds, sow hatred and antipathy, confusion and disorder, vain suspicions and anguished prejudices.

Christ immolated himself "so that the scattered children of God may be brought together as one" in peace and love, while the murderer never rests in his attempt to afflict them and scatter the children of God, who are gathered in Christ .

The following episode is very typical, and shows that it is satanic action that fosters anger, impatience and the breakdown of the bonds of love and peace with our brother:

“A certain brother, moved outraged against another, began to pray, begging [that the Lord help him] to bear his brother, going unharmed through temptation; and immediately he saw smoke coming out of his mouth. At which, his anger ceased. "

Now, how is it possible to avoid all the pitfalls of the torment-loving enemy? What is the safe antidote?

The Holy Fathers teach us that only with love and humility can we be protected and liberated.

The holy combination of love and humility elevates us spiritually above the pitfalls of evil spirits, and above all above meanness and misunderstandings, which, for the most part, arise from our self-love.

In the same way, this holy combination in the Grace of God, which gives us a peaceful, humble, merciful heart, ready to forgive and tolerant.

"A holy combination is love and humility," says St. John Climacus; "One in fact exalts, and the other, giving strength to those who are exalted, does not allow them to fall."

To be precise, we need to find patience and courage in the hour

of temptation; it is necessary to be long-suffering in prayer before the pains and have a heart ready to forgive those who have grieved us. We try not to be overcome by hatred, but rather to overcome it with love.

A pain is nothing but a cloud that will soon melt ... let's not get away from brotherly love ... Let us be long-suffering and pray ... We blame ourselves ... We humbly accept the apologies of our brother ... We remember his kindness and virtues and not let's move it away from our heart ...

St. Maximus the Confessor splendidly guides us on the "way of philosophy according to Christ

In honor of Purim this weekend, how about stitching up the virtue of humility?

Today I am saddened by the first page news in the Mumbai Mirror that has over blown a topic on Sunni Shia personal conflict that puts our city to shame.

Mumbai is another name for Mutual Coexistence .

Mumbai is another name for Hindu Muslim Amity .

Mumbai is another name for Muslims living in Peace irrespective of their sect.

I am a good Shia because my city has made me think broadmindedly, I am a Shia with an Indian Soul..

This morning I made sure I shot the Mahashivratri Festival to share with all of you, I believe this is not just an aspect of religiosity , this is a path that I call Hope and Hindutva.. a positive energy in the right direction..Hinduism is my cultural identity and I am proud that some call me a Shia Pandit.

The Ram Mandir at Bandra Bazar Road celebrates the Mahashivratri feast with devotion and spiritual humility ..

I shoot it every year..its the first time I shot it from within..this is a small set here at Flickr .

It takes two hands to clap, you give respect you get respect..

The Mumbai wall made up of so many bricks each holding a monument of our Indianness , beyond caste color or creed.

And when cracks start showing between the Shias and the Wahabbi adherents it hurts all of us as Muslims.

We have to live together , and settle our differences outside the court of law, and settle things mutually.

Most important as good Mumbaikars we should see our actions intentionally or unintentionally should not hurt the religious sensibilities of our neighbors..

We should bury the hatched and keep the disease of factionalism away from the soul of our beloved city.

I have al this to say on Mahashivrati day.. 2009

Lets make the right surroundings of peace love and harmony for our children.. let us not make them bigots..lets make them human and above all instill in them values of mutual respect..for each one of us.

Let us be Indians for a change..

About Mahashivratri

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maha_Shivaratri

Maha Shivratri or Maha Sivaratri or Shivaratri or Sivaratri (Night of Shiva or "Great Night of Shiva") is a festival celebrated every year on the 13th night/14th day in the Krishna Paksha (waning moon) of the month of Maagha (as per Shalivahana) or Phalguna (as per Vikrama) in the Hindu Calendar (that is, the night before and day of the new moon). The festival is principally celebrated by offerings of Bael (Bilva) leaves to the Lord Shiva, all day fasting and an all night long vigil.

[edit] Samudra manthan (the Churning of the Ocean)

During the samudra manthan (the churning of the ocean) by the Gods and demons, haalaa-hala, a poison, came out of the ocean. It was so toxic, it could have wiped out the entire creation. At this juncture, on the advice of Lord Vishnu , the gods approached Lord Shiva and prayed to him to protect their lives by consuming this poison. Pleased with their prayers, and out of compassion for living beings,Lord Shiva drank the poison but it was so intense that something was required to cool its effects as his throat became blue. Help was taken from Chandra( Moon God ) and finally a snake was palced aroung his neck which cooled the effect of the poison and the throat became blue. Thus Lord Shiva is also known as Neelakantha. This saga of hari-dasa story between Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva, is often depicted in many hindu households.

[edit] Pralaya (the Deluge)

In another version, it is believed that the whole world was once facing destruction and the Goddess Parvati worshiped her husband Shiva to save it. She prayed for the Jivas (living souls) remaining in space – like particles of gold dust in a lump of wax – during that long period of pralaya (deluge) night, should, upon becoming active again, have his blessings, but only if they worshiped him just as she did then. Her prayer was granted. Parvati named the night for the worship of Ishwara by mortals Maha-Sivaratri, or the great night of Shiva, since Pralaya is brought about by him.

[edit] Shiva's Favourite Day

After creation was complete, Parvati asked Lord Shiva which rituals pleased him the most. The Lord replied that the 13th night of the new moon, during the month of Maagha, is his most favourite day. Parvati repeated these words to her friends, from whom the word spread over all creation.

[edit] The Story Of King Chitrabhanu

In the Shanti Parva (chapter) of the Mahabharata epic, Bhishma, whilst resting on the bed of arrows and discoursing on Dharma (righteousness), refers to the observance of Maha Shivaratri by King Chitrabhanu. The story goes as follows:

Once upon a time King Chitrabhanu of the Ikshvaku dynasty, who ruled over the whole of Jambudvipa (the earth), was observing a fast with his wife, it being the day of Maha Shivaratri. The sage Ashtavakra came on a visit to the court of the king.

The lord asked the king the purpose of his observing the fast. King Chitrabhanu explained that he had a gift of remembering the incidents of his past birth, and in his previous life he had been a hunter in Varanasi and his name was Suswara. His only livelihood was to kill and sell birds and animals. The day before the new moon, while roaming through forests in search of animals, he saw a deer, but before his arrow flew he noticed the deer's family and their sadness at its impending death. So he let it live. He had still not caught anything when he was overtaken by nightfall and climbed a tree for shelter. It happened to be a Bael tree. His canteen leaked water, so he was both hungry and thirsty. These two torments kept him awake throughout the night, thinking of his poor wife and children who were starving and anxiously waiting for his return. To pass away the time he engaged himself in plucking the Bael leaves and dropping them down onto the ground.

The next day he returned home and bought some food for himself and his family. The moment he was about to break his fast a stranger came to him, begging for food. He served the food first to stranger and then had his own.

At the time of his death, he saw two messengers of Lord Shiva, sent to conduct his soul to the abode of Lord Shiva. He learnt then for the first time of the great merit he had earned by unconscious worship of Lord Shiva during the night of Shivaratri. The messengers told him that there had been a Lingam (a symbol for the worship of Shiva) at the bottom of the tree. The leaves he dropped had fallen on the Lingam, in imitation of its ritual worship. The water from his leaky canteen had washed the Lingam (also a ritual action), and he had fasted all day and all night. Thus, he unconsciously had worshipped the Lord.

As the conclusion of the tale the King said that he had lived in the abode of the Lord and enjoyed divine bliss for long ages and now he was reborn as Chitrabhanu.

This story is also told in the Garuda Purana[1].

[edit] Rituals of Maha Shivratri

Tripundra refers to the three horizontal stripes of holy ash applied to the forehead by worshippers of Lord Shiva. These stripes symbolise spiritual knowledge, purity and penance (spiritual practice of Yoga), so also they represent the three eyes of Lord Shiva.

Wearing a rudraksha seed of the rudraksha tree, said to have sprung from the tears of Lord Shiva) when worshipping Lord Shiva is ideal. A rudraksha is reddish in colour with yellow stripes.

On Shivaratri, only cold water and bael leaves are offered to the Lingam. Other traditional offerings, such as bathing it in milk and Panchamruta (a mixture of milk, curds, ghee, sugar and honey) (symbols of sustenance), or annointing it with vermilion (kumkum) or white consecrated rice (Akshata) (symbols of fertility, or creation), are done on this day, when Lord Shiva is worshipped as the deity of dissolution [2]..

[edit] Other Traditional Worship of Lord Shiva

Main article: Jyotirlinga

The twelve Jyotirlingas (lingams of light) are sacred shrines of Lord Shiva, and centres for his worship. They are known as "Swayambhus", meaning the lingams sprung up by themselves at these places and temples were built there afterwards.

I shot these pictures of my dearest friend Mr Dinesh Pai, whose untimely death touched us all, as he touched us leading from the front , in humility and gratitude..

Most of these pictures would have not seen the light of day, I had not come here to shoot pictures I had come to offer condolences to a normal loving man a father like me..

I came to the Shivaji Park crematorium as instructed by Dr Bhujang Pai, I wore my traditional Malang clothes and came barefeet.

Before the cortege entered the crematorium the photographer who also shoots the GSB Seva Mandal Ganesha , armed with his camera told me to take some pictures of the cortege and so I decided to share this with those millions of friends of Dinesh Pai who are still not aware of his death or his funeral rites..

It happened too fast too suddenly, an accident and the flame of life was extinguished forever , and yet this flame glows effervescently in the hearts of his daughter Anita son Amit and the immediate family close relatives.

I met Dinesh Pai through a comedy of errors I was never close to him I did meet him many years back through my dear friend Dr Bhujang Pai.. but I was close to another Pai Dilip Pai who handles the security and surveillance at theGSB Seva Mandal Kings Circle..

When son Saif was getting married at IES grounds I took the address of the security handling Dilip Pai and sent the wedding card and it turned out to be Dinesh Pai.. I never told him that as we knew each other and thus began a very close friendship.

For the last two years Dinesh Pai would personally phone me invite me to the GSB Lord Ganesha celebrations , and I would come shoot the Lord and his last journey, being a diabetic I could make it barefeet following the Lord from King Circle till Sena Bhavan than would take a taxi home..

And he would call me find out how I was doing , I was close to his daughter Anita till I was on Facebook, but than I moved to Google+ lost touch and the last call Dinesh Pai made to me was to tell me his daughter was in town I told him to bring her to my house to meet my wife family and grand kids .. but it never happened .. the Lord had decided to call Dinesh Pai home..

I am inspired by the Gaud Sarswat Brahmin story of struggle and success in Mumbai, they came from the South worked hard and made Mumbai a peacful place with their contribution offering employment hope to the citizens of Mumbai.. they became part of the ethos of Maharashtra Mazha ..and so I would shoot this at the GSB Seva Mandal .. and most of the older GSB initially were wary about me I dressed like a exotic being and mostly because photography is not allowed in the GSB Seva mandal premises Dinesh Pai Bhujang Pai and other senior members gave me the requisite permission..

And I shot passionately I shot through the eyes of the GSB and I am a Shia Muslim .. I became a GSB myself behind the camera I shot hope the future of this loving community I shot the volunteers the mothers searching for prospective grooms invoking the Lord .. and the Lord used me as his instrumental tool to tell the story of his people..

And today I have tears in my eyes I have not stopped crying since I came from the funeral pyre I called Anita told her I was sharing those moments to remind people of a Lost Journey.. How can I glorify Death.. I can only glorify God who chooses the time and place to call us back after we have completed our stint on this rang manch of Life.

I collapsed when I saw the body of my dear friend Dinesh Pai..I was not close to him but his death hit me the hardest..I have no answers .. no questions .. And the only time I cried like this was when my childhood friend Ramesh Alva died .. and left me his memories ..

I am a poet and I was shooting the poetry of a kind mans vision his humility that he leaves for us.. he was the server of Lord Ganesha .. he prayed for us .. and now I pray for him and wish him a very long spiritual life with Lord GSB Lord Ganesha.

I wish Anita Amit and the rest of the family the strength to bear this irreparable loss ..

Om Shanti Om ..

Hanuman is considered as siranjaeevi (to live eternally). He is the monkey God, strong, full of valour, with various skills and powers. At the same time, he is wise, a great gnani, yogi and a brahmachari. He had only one thought that of serving his Lord Rama with utmost humility and devotion. He is known as Siriya Thiruvadi. He is considered to be an amsam of Lord Siva. He is known by various names - Hanuman - (His jaw & cheek had gone in when struck by the Vajrayudha of Indra), Anumandhayya - (in Karnataka), Aanjaneyalu - (in Andhra Pradesh), Aanjaneyan - (son of Anjana), Maruthi - (son of Vaayu - in Maharashtra), Anumandhan, Vaayunandhan, Kesarinandhanan (son of Kesari), Aadhitasishyan and Siriya Thiruvadi (vahanam for Rama).

He is worshipped in the temples as Bhaktha Hanuman & Veera Hanuman. He is seen seated humbly in front of Rama vigrahmas in the Rama sannadhis. There are also separate temples for Hanuman. As Bhaktha Hanuman he is seen holding both hands together in prayer. He is seen as Veera Hanuman, holding the mace in one hand & the sanjeevi parvatham in the other. Devotees are blessed with courage, valour, wisdom, gnanam when they pray to him. He is very happy when he hears the Rama namam. Hence, repeating the Rama namam is one of the best ways to get his blessings.

Worship & offerings

Anjaneyar is worshipped with offerings of butter & Vadaimalai (a garland of vadais). Butter is applied to the mouth & tail of the Hanuman vigrahams in temples. Devotees pray to the Lord & apply dots of kumkumam to his tail (from the starting point to the tip) in the images kept at home.

A simple prayer to Anjaneya

On the final night of Navaratri, we celebrate Goddess Siddhidatri, who is an aspect of Maha Lakshmi. She is the ultimate form of the Nava Durgas, and the shashtras say she can only be worshiped after all of the other forms have been venerated.

She is the One who delivers success. Those who worship Her with full devotion are bestowed the eighteen forms of success. According to the Puranas, even Lord Shiva achieved salvation through Her Grace. She grants perfection and the power to act with gratitude and humility, revealing the Love of God.

Here is the Lord of Life with His head bowed in death, for He was completely obedient to His Father, showing His Extreme Humility.

I have a fascination for closed doors, doors that pretended to be closed or locked but were always unlatched from within.. doors that defied logic , doors that were part of mans destiny..mans door was always through a woman's heart sometimes shut sometimes open..another door a woman's cavernous tunnel that led to a world beyond a world we lived , a love trap door that sucked your soul and your pole within its goal..two parts unevenly opened became whole..a woman's brain has no door as she has nothing to store , guilt betrayal lust denial no more ...a blog goddess or a whore..a woman is purely a door at the core..

Woman's door the first time satin shimmering curtains that man tore man so fucked cocksure , gliding in gliding out within its pulpy contour, walls of softness sucking in the steamy liquid of love that you poured..that after nine months destroyed her art decor..a bit of you , even a bit of someone else from her door fell of the shore ..love that was once a poem regressed to a domestic chore..no more what it was once before. unpoetically she said it was on the ladies bike double seat her hymen tore..

inspired by and dedicated to manish geakwad...in hymeneal humility

Nothing says “I love you” like red roses. Red symbolizes love, beauty, courage, respect, romantic love, and even congratulations. While many send red roses on Valentine's Day, surprise your Valentine this year with white roses that symbolize true love, purity, innocence, reverence, humility, youthfulness, and charm.

This is Grayson Perry's custom built Kenilworth AM1 motorbike, on which he made his pigrimage to Germany with his teddy bear, Alan Measels, riding in the portable shrine on the back. The other side of the fuel tank says "Patience".

I don’t remember ever posting this since it’s not in my collection, so I thought I’d share some of my personal thoughts from a few years ago. Watching life pass by brings humility that at times can be absent as we travel this road called life!

Every once in a while I have to stop and take a step back and catch some of the little things in life, such as these moments, before they pass me by….. so here’s one of the entrees of the journal……..

I’ve been writing a journal of all of my deer hunting experiences since 1977 and plan on taking some of the excerpts from it and creating a book that I plan to get published; titling it, “Hunting with My Heavenly Father.” (Hopefully)

These days I hunt year round with my high-powered Canon Rebel T6 (.06 or aught 6 if you will) with an interchangeable telescopic scope (a 200 mm lens attachment with autofocus……….I prefer manual focus myself) and it’s various attachments. And since the ammo is cheap, I can take thousands of shots without changing the clip (SD card). The bonus to all of this is that I don’t need a license to hunt either……..

Anyway, here’s the latest snippet from the journal. Enjoy reading. Just so you’ll know, I add humor to my writings because that is who I am.

The picture at the end of the snippet was taken from the deer stand I was in. If you look hard you may find the feeder among the trees. Let me know if you find it.

Hunting with My Heavenly Father

Friday 11/30/2018

Winnsboro, Texas at (Camp David……wink wink)

The temperature is approximately 68 degrees today. It’s a little warm for this time of year. The high for today is supposed to be 71-72 degrees.

It’s 6:41 am and I’ve arrived at my ladder stand. The morning is cloudy and a little misty. There’s a chance of thunderstorms later this evening. As I sit here the birds are already getting their day going. An occasional crow can be heard caw-cawing in the distance. There are several squirrels hopping from tree to tree right in front of me. The little barking sound they make at each other just stirs them up. As I watch them I’m amazed at their ability to jump from limb to limb with no fear of falling. Like little Acrobats. What agility!

Two of them have been chasing each other for several minutes. As they jump from tree to tree, things from the trees fall to the forest floor; probably tree bark or maybe acorns - which I noticed yesterday were scattered around the feeder. One of the squirrels stopped for a moment to check me out but quickly lost interest. What a peaceful morning it is already.

When I got here yesterday, I decided to go down and fetch the SD card from the game camera and review what was on it.

Last night as I was reviewing it, there were several pictures of deer on it. I was glad to see two different bucks that were captured on camera. One appeared to be an 8 point, while the other a 10.

Both appeared to be legal “shooters” according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife game rule standard for this county in East Texas.

Sitting here I realized that here I am writing this down, or should I say, typing this entry on my iPhone. (I started doing this while on a trip last week.)

Since 1977 I’ve been writing down my deer hunting and “in the field” excursions on pocket notepads, using a pen, and as the ol’ saying goes, “penning” it down on paper. On days when the air is damp or humid the pages can be difficult to write on as the paper soaks up some of the moisture from the air, that can cause the ink to smear. In all those years I managed to still get things written down and gave no more thought to how it appeared on the pages. No one would notice it anyway; besides that this gave it character………

With the advent of electronics and “smartphones” it seems that pen and paper are becoming a thing of the past. (At least my pocket notepad isn’t getting damp or wet this way). Now things can be jotted down and saved without having to move your hand or wrist and risk getting writers’ cramp. I guess “thumb cramps” will be the next thing that we experience. I suppose we’ll be all “thumbs” one day!

So if we have no more paper and pen to write on, then we’ll have no more damp pages that get smeared on days such as today. What next? Telepathic note taking? Not in my lifetime……….

Now, as I sit here in this ladder-stand I take a look around my environment and watch as the leaves are falling from the trees, giving me the appearance of snow falling. Of course, it is Fall here and if you’re a leaf, eventually you will “fall”. (For all you sinners out there, don’t let your pride get in your way or it’ll trip you up in due “season” and you’ll “fall”; if you know what I mean).

To be here and see all this is also another one of those experiences I love and enjoy. The earth tone colors of the leaves are so vivid and the ground floor is covered with the golden-brown carpeting of the leaves, that it reminds me of the 1970’s and 80’s, when earth tone colors were in style. Now colors are more silvery or taupe; grays or blues. Even cars today are a more standard gray or silver. But the nature that God has created remains unchanged. Though each season has its own colors, those colors remain the same for each season. Eventually this brown carpet floor will begin to turn gray and become earth again - but in due time.

A funny thought just crossed my mind. My hair has been changing color over the years, from a brownish black to a black and gray. But God’s word says in Proverbs 16:31, “A gray head is a crown of glory; if it is found in the way of righteousness”. How can I argue with that! (I best watch it or pride will trip ME up!)

But seriously, as time passes us by, we also take part in this change. For some, a change in attitude. For others, a change in lifestyle, while others resist change altogether.

So much can be learned by looking around our own environment; heck, even from a deer stand. By the way, I didn’t see any deer today but I was still there with My Heavenly Father!

Father, thank you for the wonderful gift of time and being able to spend this time in the woods you created, and the privilege that I enjoy writing about my experiences with nature and knowing that there is purpose for it all.

In His Name!

Henry George Alexander Holiday entered the Royal Academy Schools at the age of 15 and was soon drawn to the ideas, and the artists, of the Pre-Raphaelite movement. He succeeded Edward Burne-Jones as the chief designer for the stained glass firm James Powell & Sons in 1863 and his style had a long-lasting effect on their production into the 1920s. Some of his windows were made by Lavers & Barraud and Heaton, Butler & Bayne, and after eventually ending his association with Powells, he established his own workshop in 1890. From about 1900 he even made his own glass at the workshop. His later work was made at the Glass House, Fulham.

Henry Holiday also worked as a painter, illustrator and sculptor, and his broad range of interests led to involvement in the campaign for Irish Home Rule, women's suffrage and dress reform.</b

Every year I come in humility , barefeet dressed as a beggar poet , and shoot Good Friday, and this morning at 5 am I sent a message to Bro Joe Dias founder of the Cross that holds this event ,that I was coming to shoot the Lenten Walk and this is their silver jubilee year he told me..

25 glorious years of touching the soul of humanity, the Lenten walk is memorable walk with Jesus Christ and his loved ones his followers , from Sacred Heart Church Santa Cruz West to Santa Cruz East Kalina Vakola upto St Charles Church Vakola different venues where the 14 Stations of the Cross are enacted , I came here on an empty stomach like the rest of the Christians ,,, children mothers fathers old folks rosaries in hand reciting Our Father or the Angelus ..very sad somber moment of dedication devotion hymns and prayers.

Last year I had fainted as I am a diabetic but I drank less fluid but ate sweets to control my sugar levels ..

The first Station of the Cross was enacted at Sacred Heart Church, Joe Dias Rev Fr Aguiar leading from the front and the volunteers of the cross the actors and the rest of an able team..

I shoot this event and this time I had a deadline I had to rush back to work , earlier I was my own boss now I work for someone else ..

I shot extensively , and when my feet began to burn badly I placed my stole beneath my feet , and the volunteers allowed me to sit on their work truck thereby helping me complete my Lenten walk and shoot pictures comfortably.

Allan played Jesus Christ and his dad I think now has become a pro in shooting pictures from strategic positions, Bonny my friend was there helping me.

We are here to serve God and each other

Jesus Washes His Disciples' Feet

It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love.

The evening meal was being served, and the devil had already prompted Judas Iscariot, son of Simon, to betray Jesus. Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Lord, are you going to wash my feet?"

Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand."

"No," said Peter, "you shall never wash my feet."

Jesus answered, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me."

"Then, Lord," Simon Peter replied, "not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!"

Jesus answered, "A person who has had a bath needs only to wash his feet; his whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you." For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.

When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. "Do you understand what I have done for you?" he asked them. "You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

Their humility and patience is amazing. They would go out of their way to do something for you.

I was in Prague last weekend - one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, if not further afield. While there, I was reminded of the stark contrast of life. The world bustled and hurried and scurried on around this man with excited tourists taking snaps of the sights and scenes, while listening to the droning voices of their tour guides. For this man, however, this hive of activity brings only hope. Hope for generocity and kindness. Hope for a bowl of food and a bed for the night. And perhaps something for his loyal companion and friend. A humbling experience and a strong, timely reminder of the importance of humility and the full spectrum of life as we each live and experience it.

Today, the first Sunday after Easter, in the Catholic calendar, is the Feast Day of Divine Mercy.

80 years ago, in 1931, Jesus appeared to a humble devoted nun Sister Faustina (1905-1938) in Poland & told her: "My daughter, speak to the world of my inexhaustibly Mercy. I desire that this feast be a refuge and a shelter for all souls, especially poor sinners. The very depths of My Mercy will be opened on that day. I will pour out a sea of Graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My Mercy on this day....let no soul fear to come to Me, even if its sins be as scarlet. This feast emerged from the bosom of My Mercy and is founded in the depths of My Mercies. I desire that it be celebrated with great solemnity on the first Sunday after Easter".

Even though I am Catholic I know Jesus was calling to anyone - even those who feel they have no faith. Not one of us is without pain, concerns or in need of healing in some way.

During regular visions to Sister Faustina, Jesus asked that an image be painted of him; beneath which the words, "Jesus, I Trust in You" were to be written.

The late Pope John Paul II (1920-2005) was devoted to promoting the Divine Mercy message received by Sister Faustina; whom he proclaimed a Saint in 2000. Today John Paul II will himself move a step closer to Sainthood when he is beatified in Rome and becomes known as the Blessed John Paul II.

The only Pope Polish to date, John Paul II was a man of deep humility, compassion, warmth and good humour; and during his long reign (from 1978 until his death) he reached out to the people by visiting 129 countries.

I painted this portrait tribute, with deep prayers, on Easter Monday, wishing to pay tribute to his great example of the gift of forgiveness (which publically he gave to the terrorist who shot him in St Peter's Square in 1981); his promotion of the message of Divine Mercy & his special devotion to Mary, Mother of God...Mother of Divine Mercy.

I pray for great Blessings of peace, forgiveness & healing on this day.

Second Station of the Cross: Jesus Carries His Cross.

What circumstances might we be asked to accept?

For Lent: 40 days in the Wilderness:

Jesus bore the humiliation, the suffering, of the cross willingly. Considering humility during Lent, I found this quote in my devotional readings this week:

"It was not poverty that led Lazarus to heaven, but humility; nor was it wealth that prevented the rich man from attaining eternal rest but rather his egoism and his infidelity." -Saint Gregory the Great

These Stations of the Cross are chiseled into a plaster wall. The image seen here is actually the negative space created from the concrete being removed from the wall. They were quite unique and beautiful in their simplicity.

Body language speaks louder than words! This man really caught my eye! Partly because he had a dog with him but even more so, because of the way he was standing there. Never once did I hear him verbally begging for money. He had on sign resting on the duffle bag that read, "Homeless anything will help. God bless". He was too proud!

I have a lot of friends among cobblers be it Bandra or this cobbler at Dharavi..

The sad part is all their life they will be repairing shoes suitcase or umbrellas on the roads their lives will never change as their leaders who became multi billionaires with their votes want them to remain Dalits and stay at the lowest level of the hierarchy.

See the graph of any political Dalit leader see his humble beginning than his wealth skyrocketed and this happens only in India.

The Dalit in India is a vote bank nothing else this hard working honest reliable humble community was only recognized by Dr Balasaheb Ambedkar Sab and today there is no leader that has the sensitivity or the compassion that Dr Ambedkar Sab had.

He was a humanitarian unlike the vultures in politics that squeeze the blood of the Dalits.

The Dalits have been used abused for centuries by the Brahmanical upper class.

My cobbler friends share their bread with me in their cobbler stalls..

I shoot their pictures to promote their dedication and humility.

India will truly be India when the Dalits are treated on par like the rest.

This is my tribute to the selfless Dalit cobbler nameless too.
