On June 16th, members of Bayer and Camacho Cigars gave book bags with supplies to over 200 school children at the Corojo Farm in Jamastran, Honduras. On hand to distribute these bags were Christian Eiroa and Dylan Austin of Camacho Cigars, Matt Booth of Room101, Robert Caldwell of the Hotel Humidor, Truscott Miller of the Orange Bowl Committee, and members of the Bourbon Steak restaurant chain.
I am an FDNY Paramedic Captain who works in the South Bronx. It's a tough and 'very active'' section of NYC. In addition to handling the many calls for help, as a Station Commanding Officer, I am tasked with meeting the needs of 55 EMT's, Paramedics and 6 Officers. A typical day for me is like a ride on a roller coaster. Sometimes you just strap in and try to hang on until the shift is over. My solace as I drive home is a good cigar. Once there, I am relegated to the garage to sit among my toys and finish my smoke. Oddly enough though, my wife is a smoker too (cigarettes). She gets to stay in the kitchen and smoke by the range hood! (talk about woman's rights!) I have often thought about cleaning out a portion of my basement, installing a smoke eater, a nice couch, humidor and a TV. Having a place to call my own where I can let the day's events drift away on a cloud of smoke would be the best medicine this Paramedic could ever receive!

Der «Dome» Humidor, den Thomas Frei in Empfang nehmen durfte, ist aus einem Holz gefertigt, das im Fachjargon «Esche Wurzel offenporig» genannt wird. Das Marqueterie-Bild, das Logo des «Smoking», der Cigarren-rauchende Bernerhof-Bär, wurde aus kleinsten eingeschwärzten Birnbaum-Holzteilchen eingelegt.

I was having a hard time figuring out what song to play when my very good friend Sultan called and his ringtone played - sultans of swing.
a few months ago we thought it would be hilarious if this was his ringtone - so I did it. Because it was so uncommon for me to meet someone with a name like Sultan, it's not hard to forget him. When sultans of swing plays I always think of him.
I got an e-mail reply saying that a phone interview will be scheduled next week. I take it this is good news, but I'm so out of practice and it makes me nervous. Things are looking good. :)
