Meet Marta, my Human Family Stranger number 85.
I revisited Bray, Co. Wicklow, Ireland, as the prospects for a nice sunset looked good. I arrived early and took a strool along Bray Promenade. On my way back a group of people were having a Barbeque party in the front garden of one of the houses overlooking the sea. I said hello to Marta and mentioned that she was a day early as the National Street feast was the following day. She said they would also be having a Street Feast for the row of six houses. I mentioned that I would be taking photos at one of the events for the National Street Feast organisers.
I then asked Marta if she would participate in my Strangers project. I showed her my Flickr Album of previous strangers on my phone. Marta was impressed. Marta expressed doubts about how she would look. I told Marta that I would take some photos and she could then decide. I selected this spot beside where we were standing. Marta was pleased with the photos.
Marta is from Galway in the West of Ireland. She works in Dublin as a solicitor for for a major Law Firm, where interestingly my eldest son once worked. Marta said they had moved to the house on the seafront in Bray a year ago.
Marta said her interests are Walking, Food and Photography. I didnt get more details as Marta had to leave.
I gave Marta my contact card but overlooked to invite her to contact me for a copy.
Thank you Marta for participating in my Human Family Strangers Project.
Marta is my Stranger number 85 submission to the Human Family Strangers Group.

Not every child's thought is innocent. This necklace of human ribs and mirrored meat cleaver remind us just that. Looking closely at the cleaver we can see our reflection which gives an ominous feeling of being next.
The Ribs are made from 1/8 inch thick black acrylic and are 1 and 5/8th inches wide by 2 and 5/8th inches long. The Cleaver is a Mirrored Acrylic measuring 1 and 1/4 inches long by 5/8th inches wide. They hang on a gun metal chain that is approximately 24 inches long. The clasp is a gun metal lobster claw with 8mm gun metal jump ring. The chain can be shortened by request at time of sale.

The Northern Flicker is a family of the Woodpeckers, and they are not uncommon to the areas in the region. They are not the easiest to shoot, for human presence is fully noticed, and on a regular basis, they would move away just enough to be out of range for better viewing. So, for the Meadowlands area, we are simply pleased to get some decent photos or these lovely birds. We have had some fair success at Duke Farms and Negri-Nepolte Native Grassland Preserve (see albulms). The first two photos were taken on an overcast day, while the latter two on a slightly sunny one.
This marina in Carlstadt has been around for quite some time, but it was only around 2012-2013 in which it became a part of the River Barge Park, a kind of wildlife preserve of the Meadowlands wetlands and marshes. Situated along the Hackensack River, just a bit north of the Met Life Stadium and Meadowlands Sports Complex, the scenery is quite pleasant. Many birds and marsh land creatures tend to be attracted to the area, and whether on the marsh side of the park or by the river, along the shore and piers, one can often find some pretty fascinating critters. Of course, there are native plants and other flowers that occupy the area, and often found with a variety of insects drawn to them, so if someone has an appreciation for that end, there are also interesting discoveries to be made.
Water vessels of all kinds pass by while visiting, but typically, nothing too large or industrial. In addition, many boaters prefer this marina, for it offers a very quaint and cozy feel about it.
