A street show in my home town, Ra'anana, Israel.

Thank you so much for the comments. They are very encouraging.

A quick shot of the Fireblast Human Torch I got recently. The figure is quite the standard modern figure with spring action arms, I like the colours this throws off when the sun is setting. The colours of the orange and red really do shine quite brightly.

Day 35 / 365

Hey, remember that episode of I Love Lucy where Lucy so hilariously gets trapped in the Freezer? Welp, it seems like Batman has fallen victim to the same fate. It's really sad, because we all know he's screaming in there, and no one can hear him. Soon, his little plastic lungs will freeze over and perhaps Mister Freeze will eat him. Mr. Freeze is a cannibal, right?

This afternoon, rock collecting for more inukshuks, near Cave Creek, Arizona. Like "Our Man in the Field", inspiration comes from many directions. Nice to have a man in the image to give a sense of scale, eh? Then there is the sense of the man weighing that rock, to see if it makes our "cut".

Olaf Breuning(b. 1970, Schaffhausen, Switzerland)

The Humans, 2007

Marble, bronze

Olaf Breuning’s eclectic art practice incorporates film, staged photography, sculptures, and drawings. Carved in marble with bronze details, the six whimsical characters in Breuning’s The Humans are part animal, part fairy-tale figurine and bring a playful attitude to the tradition of figurative sculpture. With their comically expressive faces and rounded bodies, these endearing creatures parody the cycle of human evolution from fish to fisher king, here installed in an endless loop.

The simple moments of life that mean so very much.

A touch, a smile, a laugh.

Holding a baby, and making them smile.

Bringing a laugh to the heart.

Here, my Karen Sue has captured the joy of generations. Great Grandfather and Great Granddaughter, seeing each other for the first time and smiling.

We gathered to greet Maggie & Karen's nephew Tyler and his lovely bride Rachel, the new parents. Due to distance and the hardship of long distance travel, this was the first visit that we in Springfield, had with Maggie and her parents, who live near Jackson, Mississippi.

Maggie was just a wee bit fussy, so at one point in the evening, I commandeered her into my grip, turned her around and walked around the room, singing and cooing and bouncing her as she smiled and looked about in wonder. She had a good grip on my index finger, a strong arm on her.

Here, Karen's Dad, Great Grandpa Tom is "dancing" with Maggie, bouncing her feet up and down, and talking up a constant stream with her. The grin on his face is a shadow of the inner joy that he is filled with at finally seeing his first Great Granddaughter.

The human touch. A gift that is priceless for both the giver and receiver.

As I was walking past Victoria Square today, I saw a man feeding bits of bread to pigeons, and he had them eating out of his hands. His wife was taking photos, and I stopped to have a look through my camera. Suddenly all the pigeons flew away! They were crowded around an older man who was scattering sunflower seeds to them. I went up to him and he let me have some seeds, and this photo shows the pigeons getting really friendly with me!

The Pacific Spirit Area camp was held at Camp Byng again this year. Approximately 200 people attended the camp! The weather was great and challenges were many. There were human slingshots, fire lighting, pop bottle rockets and archery! Fun was had all 'round!
