Three inseparable words from the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in San Francisco's Yerba Buena Gardens:
"An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity."
"I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality."
"There is nothing in all the world greater than freedom. It is worth paying for; it is worth going to jail for. I would rather die in abject poverty with my convictions than live in inordinate riches with the lack of self-respect."

MLK's final speech given April 3, 1968 at Mason Temple in Memphis, TN, the night before he was assassinated.
"...Men, for years now, have been talking about war and peace. But now, no longer can they just talk about it. It is no longer a choice between violence and nonviolence in this world; it's nonviolence or nonexistence...."

It was humanity I sought
in these
afternoons
of the middle place tonight
where Earth meets water
and soul mingles
with
self

The invisible people, shunned not because of their character but of the community they were born into, there is no other choice but to beg for food or money.
What parent could deny this Woman.
truly the organizations most alleviated in spiritual welfare…is the charity of providing the needs of Humanity for free…
The door to this one room cabin was locked long ago. For all these years, I've stood at the window, watched the signs of mice chewing and spiders spinning their webs. The limbo lies between now, and a then that's never coming back again. For a cabin built well, this means a long way down, and I suppose a forlorn hope for return, who knows? When it comes to willing isolation, some folks are happy in any forest, an escape in reach where trees are more common than cars. Others want a deeper hideaway, where even the hint of humanity is unlikely unless you bring it along. I'm at home with just being the only one present at any given moment. That could be on a busy street after midnight, or far out in nature whenever. Embracing the sensation of making an emotional connection to only two things at once: the place I'm in, and myself. Here hides the most heartfelt state – no feelings not your own.

painted wood (Italian poplar).
"This intimate sculptural composition depicts the Virgin Mary holding her son, the smiling Christ child, who brings his face up to that of his loving mother. The Virgin is seated on the ground as a sign of her humility. The innocent affection of her gaze betrays a certain wistfulness, which seems to indicate her premonition of the future betrayal and crucification of her infant son. The manner in which she clasps the baby Jesus in a protective embrace also prefigures traditional representations of the Pieta, in which the grieving Virgin tenderly cradles the body of her dead son" as quoted by NGV.

Museum of Humanity was created in 2001 after a dream of photographer Ruben Timman about a dilapidated and dark museum. It is a metaphor for the state of the world and our humanity. That dream is the starting point for portraying humanity worldwide as dignified as possible.
Our collection now consists of more than 7000 portraits. We visited twenty countries on five continents and grew into a worldwide movement. Because:
“We believe in the beauty and value of every person, regardless of origin, gender, orientation, conviction, age, disability or orientation. Every person matters, is valuable and capable of making the world a better place.”
on the wall written in Arabic "humanity charity - Alsaeed: the happy man - cleanliness is next to godliness".
Midhras' ENB
I tried to tweak the config in order to make something more personal, but in the end I always turn back to his ENB ^^ it's the right post apocalyptic atmosphere for Fallout :)

A narrow gauge train, in middle of nowhere -- on a rugged landscape -- somewhere close to Sabalgarh in MP.
This is Gwalior Light Railway, constructed in the first decade of 1900's -- a 2 feet track that extends over 200 km to connect Seopur Kalan to Gwalior (both in MP). It traverses a part of the Chambal valley and skirts the lesser-known Kuno-Palpur National Park. There are twenty-six stations on the way, apart from the two end-points. The train runs at maximum speed of 35 kmph (yes, 35 -- I have not missed a zero!).
An open-air ride on the roof-top is a more comfortable mode of journey for the village folk than a bumpy ride on the dusty road.
We keep wondering how the world can continue to be so beautiful despite our human tragedies. What a sad and crazy week. Wednesday's sunrise I captured on the way to work.
“Yes, we are all different. Different customs, different foods, different mannerisms, different languages, but not so different that we cannot get along with one another. If we will disagree without being disagreeable.”
