These two are a friends not mine but I wanted to share them with our followers because they are historically important and extremely rare.
Le “soap box” letteralmente” scatole di sapone” nascono nel 1933 negli U.S.A. grazie alla trovata di un commerciante di sapone che seppe sfruttare il momento con creatività e fantasia. Il brillante imprenditore ebbe la folgorante intuizione di disegnare sulle scatole del suo sapone (che allora erano di legno) le sagome di autovetture immaginarie. Una volta ritagliate e completate con l’aggiunta di parti meccaniche, chiunque avrebbe potuto costruirsi la propria “auto” personalizzata.Fu un successo enorme: migliaia di mini-bolidi cominciarono a sfilare per gli States; ovunque ci fosse una strada in pendenza.Anche in Italia si sta sempre più sviluppando questa simpatica iniziativa, ci sono associazioni e appassionati di Soap Box che organizzano periodicamente gare.La Soap Box di Isola del Liri è una manifestazione che coniuga l’aspetto sportivo a quello prettamente ludico e creativo: lo spirito di chi si cimenta in questa competizione è rivolto non solo alla creazione e all’assemblaggio della macchina più veloce ma anche alla cura dell’aspetto estetico. Non vince solo il veicolo più veloce, ma anche il più buffo e divertente, frutto della creatività e originalità del team che l’ha costruito. E' una gara di piloti e costruttori, una gara ecologica dove non ci sono motori ma solo la forza di gravità. Lungo il tracciato si vedono sfrecciare bolidi dalle forme disparate come la casa dei puffi, il treno, il pianoforte , lo squalo e non mancano veri e propri prototipi, veri e propri gioielli di ingegneria.
