This bench, among other initiatives in the park, commemorates the history of Japanese Canadians on this island.
The garden/park promises to be a space that promotes reconciliation and healing. The ribbon-cutting ceremony and dedication was today, where we stood in the rain and honoured each other, our past, and our future. The society that put this all together works for peace, reconciliation, internationalism and cross-cultural unity. Yay for that.
Today I am grateful for the inspiring spirit and energy of others, and for hope.
