“Keep your love of nature, for that is the true way to understand art more and more.”

'Vincent Van Gogh'

I found this quote rather appropriate to accompany this shot I took of my grandson today as one of his favourite pass times is drawing.

This photo is part of a big set of this day.

Some of my best shots of this event will be posted in JeromesPOV

(honestly, I'd rather hug my wife than hug a tree)

Giant Redwood Tree at Sequoia National Park, California

Had some cool ideas for a treehugging photo for SOAMG's treehugging group. They didn't quite happen due to yesterday's impromptu snowstorm (frozen toesies, muddy ground, lack of greenery) and today's blustery weather. I ended up liking this one well enough though.

I wish it would hug me...

In a desperate attempt to save all the little baby seals from being clubbed, and the bonsai lambs being kidnapped, I hold a flower hostage, threatening to eat it petal by petal until people stop throwing cigarette butts on the floor and breathing on me.

I am and will always be a tree hugger :D

I have always been amazed, stunned & in awe of nature. God's creation is mind-blowing in it's intricacy, the more you look the more you see!

This fascination with nature led me to do a Bachelor of Applied Science in Ecology & Environmental Science, with a major in Cultural Heritage management. It was a pretty good course, though included far more study into statistics than I liked... I loved the practical side of it though!! One day after the kids are grown I might get back into the field... or I might go more professional with my photography... or I might study naturopathy & herbology... or, or... all 3?!

For Grandma Tina and all the tree-huggers

One of those twigs the kids brought home from an Arbor Day celebration at school. It's alive! Planted 3 years ago, the first blooms appear to be forming. I've never seen them in this tiny bud form ( 1/2 inch, or 1.25 cms).

This is my newest sticker on my car! :D

Why not hug a tree today!

Why not pat it on it's bark!

Why not tell it how beautiful it is!

Why not give it a drink!

Then..............

Thank it for it's shade*

Thank it for it's fruit*

Then.............

Take a deep breath and thank it for the air*

Oh, go hug a tree! (personal hand drawing, done in pencil on regular paper)

"Hug a Tree"

Anyone else find it odd that an environmental, anti-litter group would promote themselves using shiny, waste-creating stickers?

Now this is a sandwich board!!
