Three bull elk in a huddle for a strategy conversation of what to do with me as I have seemed to have invaded their space

West 9th Street Rookery Comes Alive with Babies This time of year. We were so excited to see so many Mums in their nests flanked by two or three babies. The three Snowy Egret Babies here were huddled together, high up in a Eucalyptus tree, waiting for mum to return with food.

Three huddled juvenile great egrets, together sleeping - Basically they have two speeds at which they move - either, they are moving and yelling at high speed, or they are asleep, and they transition from one state to the other quite quickly.

Pretty much empty these days

Simply adored this clump of firs appearing to huddle together to keep warm like penguins from the morning frost!! Taken in Monkton Wood, Buckinghamshire

A bunch of green plastic Woolworth Supermarket trolley huddling in a random corner, hiding from the Trolley Collector, who is coming to herd them back to the trolley bay.

These three little Canada goslings kept me entertained last week. I was photographing two of them sitting close together on the grass when the third decided to push into the middle to make a small huddle!

I'll bet these Bluebirds are wishing they hadn't taken that wrong turn at Albuquerque. This morning was really hard on the fingertips, I can't imagine what it must be like for them.

A small flock of migrating Semipalmated Plovers had landed in the rocks at the beach overnight and were resting and warming up in the sunshine. We were able to creep up fairly close without disturbing them.

I was soundside under an empty vacation rental waiting for the sun to set. Walking around looking for the best place to shoot from and I spied these two, huddled there in the cold wind coming off the sea. I didn’t want to get close and disturb them in their safe space, so I took this from far away with my phone. I grabbed one with my camera, but haven’t uploaded yet and I was excited to share because this was such a sweet scene.

It wasn't overly cold but it was overcast and a little bit of drizzle, so I guess these little-red flying foxes huddled together to stay warm.

It was an awesome sighting.

This little hummingbird was sitting huddled on a branch and didn't mind a camera staring in its face...

Goslings In Swindon

Lovely to see this huddle of Sixteen Spot ladybirds on a post in tne Welcombe Hills Country Park today!

Early morning frost on a crisp fall morning....

Back to a favourite spot for another try and a different look at the silos. The addition of the fence adds depth to the shot and makes the silos look as if they are huddled together, perhaps protection against the wind.

We weren't expecting rain but the behaviour of these sheep might tell you otherwise

Probably lots of Easter things to talk about ....

:)

Happy Easter everyone!

What's a mama bear to do when she has 3 little spring cubs with her, but yet she needs to go fishing for salmon? In my experience, often they will bring their cubs towards humans, almost as if they're dropping them off for babysitting. See, in the spring or early summer, the boars will follow the sows and they to get their babies away from them, so that they can mate. It's a hard side to nature, but if she loses her cubs, then the odds are stacked more in the boar's favor for mating. By dropping off the "kids" closer to humans, she knows that it's less likely that the aggressive boards will invade that space. To me, it's a Win/Win! Thankfully I've never had to witness that harsh reality of the life of bear cubs (fingers crossed I never do).

While on this break for the sow, you couldn't help but fall in love with these little springers ... and I love how they seemed to be so huddled together for protection. Just love bears and these 3 were over the top on the cuteness scale. <3
