Arizona is a state in the Southwestern region of the United States, sharing the Four Corners region of the western United States with Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah. Its other neighboring states are Nevada to the northwest and California to the west. Arizona is home to a diverse population. Since the 1980s, the proportion of Hispanics has grown significantly owing to migration from Mexico and Central America. Navajo Upper Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon in the American Southwest, on Navajo land east of Lechee, Arizona. It includes six separate, scenic slot canyon sections on the Navajo Reservation, referred to as Upper Antelope Canyon (or The Crack), Rattle Snake Canyon, Owl Canyon, Mountain Sheep Canyon, Canyon X and Lower Antelope Canyon (or The Corkscrew). It is the primary attraction of Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park, along with a hiking trail to Rainbow Bridge National Monument.

The Navajo name for Upper Antelope Canyon is Tsé bighánílíní, which means 'the place where water runs through the (Slot Canyon) rocks'. Lower Antelope Canyon is Hazdistazí (called "Hasdestwazi" by the Navajo Parks and Recreation Department), or 'spiral rock arches'. Both are in the LeChee Chapter of the Navajo Nation. Le lac de Serre-Ponçon est un lac artificiel situé dans les Hautes-Alpes et les Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, dans le sud des Alpes françaises. Il a été créé en 1959 par la construction d'un barrage sur la Durance à un peu moins de deux kilomètres à l'aval de sa confluence avec l'Ubaye. L'aménagement hydraulique est complété par le lac d'Espinasses situé au pied du barrage de Serre-Ponçon, à partir duquel est alimenté le canal EDF de la Durance.

L'établissement du plan d'eau nécessite le déplacement de plus de mille habitants et la destruction de plus de 400 bâtiments. Un village disparaît sous les eaux, Ubaye, qui n'est pas reconstruit. La partie la plus basse du village de Savines disparaît également mais un nouveau village est installé sur la rive du lac. Pour la première fois en France, les pouvoirs publics prennent des dispositions permettant d'indemniser les expropriés pour le préjudice subi et non seulement au titre de la valeur du bien exproprié.

Le réseau de communication est également fortement affecté et cela entraîne la construction de nouvelles routes et voies ferrées.

Achevé en 1959, l'aménagement hydraulique permet de contribuer à la régulation des crues de la Durance et à l'irrigation de la Provence tout en produisant également de l'électricité. Le plan d'eau est par ailleurs devenu un lieu touristique important pour l'économie de la région.

(See links) Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary last named Brushy Mountain Correctional Complex (also called Brushy) was a large maximum-security prison in the town of Petros in Morgan County, Tennessee, operated by the Tennessee Department of Correction. It was established in 1896 and operated until 2009.

Most Tennesseans have heard of Brushy Mountain Prison, the infamous maximum security penitentiary where the Volunteer State’s most hardened criminals were housed.

Hidden in the mountains of east Tennessee, just outside the hamlet of Petros lies the now closed Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary, once a key part of the Tennessee penal system. It doesn’t have the fame of Alcatraz or other well known prisons but it was just as important and mysterious. It was constructed by inmates from stone quarried on site and looks like a castle, it must have been something to build their own prison. From above one can see it is shaped like a cross which illustrates the importance of religion to the people of the area. It’s history is long and complicated, it is one of the oldest penitentiaries in the US.

The prison is nearly encircled by rugged wooded terrain in a remote section of the Cumberland Plateau, adjacent to Frozen Head State Park and Natural Area. Escape attempts were infrequent and almost always unsuccessful. Perhaps the best-known escape attempt occurred on June 10, 1977, when James Earl Ray, the assassin of Martin Luther King Jr., escaped with six other inmates by climbing over a fence. Ray was captured less than 58 hours later in rugged mountain terrain 8​1⁄2 miles from the prison.

En aquest Passeig de la Fama podem veure la petjada de grans esportistes, la majoria amb el calçat del seu esport, i de tres d'ells (Mark Spitz, Manuel Estiarte o Nadia Comaneci) la petjada del seu peu descalç. Fins l'any 2014 va haver 24 plaques amb nom i la petjada assignades, i 10 més per assignar. L'any 2014 va ser retirada la petjada de Lance Amstrong després de que reconegués que es dopava.

En junio de 1997 llegaba a los kioscos el primer número de la revista Redobles, que, quince años después, sigue erigiéndose en la revista de la Semana Santa de Zaragoza y buque insignia de nuestra entidad, la Asociación Cultural Redobles. Además, hemos producido dos documentales, englobados en una colección editada en DVD; desde 2009 editamos una colección de monografías, que incluye estudios sobre la Semana Santa, y promovido matasellos y sellos conmemorativos dedicados a esta celebración secular de Zaragoza… entre otras decenas de actividades e iniciativas, como la concesión de una calle al cofrade zaragozano Domingo Figueras.

En Zaragoza existen veinticuatro cofradías, cuyas advocaciones se refieren a todos

los misterios de la Pasión, Muerte y Resurrección de Cristo. Durante nueve días se pueden

contemplar cuarenta y nueve procesiones, desde la del Pregón, el Sábado de Pasión, hasta

la del Encuentro Glorioso el Domingo de Resurrección. El Jueves Santo es el día de mayor

número de procesiones, con catorce. Entre todas, destaca la del Santo Entierro en la tarde

del Viernes Santo, en la que participan todas las cofradías y pasos de Zaragoza y en la

que se produce la mayor concentración de tambores en una procesión en España. Esta

procesión de procesiones, de la que se tienen referencias desde 1525, es organizada por la

Hermandad de la Sangre de Cristo desde 1617, y constituye un Vía Crucis completo de gran

solemnidad y brillantez, con un largo recorrido que paraliza todo el centro de la ciudad.

Las procesiones de Zaragoza son austeras, serias y con una cuidada organización. La

vestimenta de los cofrades se caracteriza por su uniformidad y corrección. Todas ellas reflejan

un marcado sentimiento religioso y su carácter penitencial. Por otro lado, también es muy

característica la diversidad de las cofradías, expresada claramente en la policromía de hábitos, y que se manifiesta en su diversidad de estilos y en sus diferentes formas de expresión.

El sonido del tambor y del bombo, introducido en 1940, es una de las peculiaridades

de la Semana Santa zaragozana. La Cofradía de las Siete Palabras fue la pionera en traer a

sus procesiones los toques tradicionales del Bajo Aragón que, más tarde, fueron introducidos en sus desfiles por el resto de las cofradías. Hoy en día, ha calado profundamente en

el sentimiento de los zaragozanos hasta ser considerado, cada vez más, como una de sus señas de identidad. El momento final de la procesión está acompañado por los redobles

más espectaculares donde las manos dejan paso al corazón y el cofrade vuelca toda su

emoción despidiendo a sus pasos.

Pero además, otros sonidos acompañan a las procesiones, sonidos tan tradicionalmente aragoneses como el de la matraca o la carraca o tan universales en la Semana Santa

española como el de los grupos de cornetas y tambores. La diversidad de las cofradías hace

también posible escuchar algunos días la música de Banda a pesar de ser mucho menos

frecuente en nuestra Comunidad. Por último, no podemos olvidar que el canto, en forma

de Saeta o mucho más frecuentemente de Jota, nos emocionará en múltiples ocasiones.
