Court d'Honneur

The Palais-des-Papes was first reconsctructed from the Bishop's old houset by John XXII. After his death, Benedict XII decided to enlarge it, transforming it in a Palace (known as the Palais Viex or the "Old Palace").

 

The last major enlargement was made by Clemet VI, who decided to built a entire new Palace, the Palais Neuf.
