I didn't ask, but this establishment probably didn't care if you did more than just sleep in the room, for example you could watch HBO.....and remember this is the "Lucky" Inn.....:-))

On March 19, 2009, between 1.2 (police source) and 3 million (organizers) people demonstrated in France to protest against Sarkozy's policies and his handling of the crisis. Clashes with the riot police erupted at the end of the demonstration place de la Nation , where 300 people were arrested and 49 convicted.

En las cercanías del Palacio de Gosálvez, se encuentra la Ermita de Santiago Apóstol, construida en honor a Santiago Gosálvez, el antepasado de la familia que, en 1842, estableció las fábricas de harina, hilados y papel continuo en el Puente de Don Juan. La ermita se construyó entre 1946 y 1948 en estilo neogótico, a base de muros de tapial y verdugadas de ladrillo. Sus ventanales (dos a cada lado y tres en la cabecera) así como el arco de la portada, son apuntados. Sobre esta última figura una gran hornacina con un arco de ladrillo de medio punto. En ella había un colorido fondo de azulejos historiado de Santiago Matamoros. La fachada se remata con un pequeño frontón cuadrado de ladillo que, a modo de espadaña, alberga el hueco de la campana. The Chapel of "Santiago Apóstol" (St. James) is located next to Palace of Gosálvez. It was built in honor of Santiago Gosálvez, the ancestor of the family who, in 1842, established flour, textile and paper industries in "Puente de Don Juan", near Villalgordo del Júcar (Albacete, Spain). The chapel was built between 1946 and 1948 in Neo Gothic style, with walls of mud and rows of bricks. The windows (two on each side and three on the header) and the arc of the façade are pointed. Above the latter there was a niche with a half point brick arch with a colorful historiated background of tiles depicting "Santiago Matamoros" in it. The Redwood National and State Parks (RNSP) are located in the United States, along the coast of northern California. The parks consist of a combined area of 131,983 acres (534.12 km2) located entirely within Del Norte and Humboldt Counties and they protect 45% of all remaining Coastal Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) old-growth forests, totaling at least 38,982 acres (157.75 km2). These trees are the tallest and one of the most massive tree species on Earth. In addition to the redwood forests, the parks preserve other indigenous flora, fauna, grassland prairie, cultural resources, portions of rivers and other streams, and 37 miles (60 km) of pristine coastline.

Una climatología más bien mala, un tremendo dolor de espalda, mucho trabajo, y ganas de practicar mi afición favorita.
Manos a la obra. En casita, con una tela negra y cualquier objeto que tengas a mano, cámara en trípode, y a practicar iluminaciones.
El bodegón es una especialidad que no he practicado hasta ahora, y aunque parece sencillo, cuando te pones a ello comienzas a ver las dificultades.
Acostumbrado a la fotografía de paisajes, donde el escenario está colocado por la madre naturaleza, y sólo tienes que componer con los elementos que tienes ante tus ojos, el bodegón supone un gran reto, porque tienes que crear tú mismo la escena, colocando cada objeto con precisión, teniendo en cuenta formas, texturas, colores, proporciones, fondo, suelo, iluminación.
Las posibilidades son infinitas, y es necesario realizar un gran esfuerzo de creatividad, y al mismo tiempo emplear todos los conocimientos aprendidos para no fracasar.
Y no puedes echar la culpa a nadie, porque todo el proceso está bajo tu control.
Cuando se tiene experiencia, seguro que puedes hacer un bodegón con los ojos cerrados, pero os prometo que he pasado más tiempo colocando manzanitas y tomates que disparando y procesando las fotografías.
Lo cierto es que me ha enganchado, espero ir aumentando mi galería de bodegones (naturaleza muerta que dicen los guiris) poco a poco.
La mayoría de los especialistas en bodegones utilizan flashes fuera de cámara para iluminar sus creaciones, pero me gusta más utilizar técnicas de light painting como las que últimamente he practicado en exteriores, con linternas.
Pintar con luz un bodegón me parece mucho más sencillo, práctico y barato que usar flashes con difusores, disparos remotos etc. Ese tipo de iluminación de estudio está bien para retrato, donde tienes un modelo que está vivo (y se mueve).
Pero si lo que tienes son dos cuchillos y un tomate, o una piedra, no van a salir corriendo, ni se van a aburrir de verte alrededor con tu linterna.
La mayor ventaja de usar linternas es que puedes ver los efectos de la luz en distintas posiciones, con las sombras proyectadas, brillos, etc en tiempo real y antes de hacer el disparo.
Una vez tienes claro cómo vas a iluminar, luz apagada, modo bulb y a pintar con la linterna (un poco de luz ambiente, una luz más intensa en un punto concreto, perfilando los bordes de un objeto, etc... Los resultados son fantásticos, os invito a probarlo. Todo el mundo puede hacerlo en su casa. Sólo hay que superar que los de casa te tomen por loco cuando comiences a montar el chiringuito (pero seguro que no se sorprenden; ya conocen tu locura......)

Hydra es animal inmortal de movimientos lentos, pero necesita alimentarse para vivir. Sólo el empleo de un agente inmovilizante y la presencia de algún mecanismo que sujete la presa a los tentáculos, podría conventir en carnívoras a las hidras. La eficacia de las armas de Hydra está probada porque, a pesar de su lentitud, es absolutamente carnívora y puede capturar sin ningún esfuerzo a los pequeños animales que orbitan veloces a su alrededor .
Las sofisticadas armas de Hydra se disparan en un instante, rápidas como un destello. Son los nematocistos. Aparecen dentro de unas estructuras abultadas que se disponen en sus tentáculos. Los nematocistos están constituidos por una cápsula, su contenido amorfo, una tapa y un tubo invertido que puede presentar diferentes formas. Cuando el nematocisto se dispara, el tubo invertido se evagina y el contenido de la cápsula se elimina.
El tubo que se dispara y su extremo, con frecuencia están recubiertos de púas como si se tratase de minúsculos arpones. En este grupo de animales se han descrito hasta 18 tipos de nematocistos diferentes. Los nematocistos aturden, paralizan o matan a las presas o a los enemigos, envuelven el alimento y lo sujetan con los tentáculos, además de realizar otras funciones que no se conocen todavía en detalle, algunos de ellos penetran en la superficie de la presa e inyectan una sustancia tóxica paralizante o mortal para sus víctimas.
Resulta soprendente que los nematocistos parecen tener vida propia, actúan con independencia del sistema nervioso y para ser eficaces deben actuar en el momento oportuno y en la forma más conveniente. Pueden modificar su umbral de respuesta a lo largo de la vida de la Hydra o según cambien las condiciones en su entorno...no es extraño que las hidras tengan ese temperamento pausado y tranquilo, lo confían todo a su armamento, que piensa y decide por ellas, dándoles la vida...armas de Hydra
Hydra es un pólipo solitario, muy conocido en los libros, pero del que existen escasas citas en nuestro país, donde sólo parecen estar presentes dos especies, la de hoy, Hydra vulgaris, que se cita como novedad para el Lago de Sanabria e Hydra viridissima, de menor tamaño y muy característica por su intenso color verde debido a la simbiosis que establece con algas del género Chlorella.
Hydra vulgaris suele estar presente entre las algas, en aguas con carga de materia orgánica. En el Lago de Sanabria su presencia parece estar asociada al deterioro de los fondos, como consecuencia del enriquecimiento en nutrientes por vertidos urbanos, que las administraciones han decidido resolver, persiguiendo y acosando a quienes lo denuncian.
Hydra vulgaris se cita por vez primera para el Lago de Sanabria (Zamora) y ha sido fotografiada a 50 aumentos con la técncia de campo oscuro, y descubierta y recogida por Laura, Mª José y Tomás en los fondos, junto a la Isla de Moras, a 5 metros de profundidad en una muestra recogida el día 19 de abril de 2015 desde el catamarán Helios Sanabria, el primer catamarán construido en el Planeta propulsado por energía eólica y solar.

This was from one of my early weddings a few years ago (again apologies if you have seen it before, I’m having to repost shots now and then). This is a popular image I have a go at recreating now and then with brides but haven’t quite nailed it. It was just a spur of the moment shot as we were moving between locations. In terms of lighting there was only sunlight. I did a bit of HDR processing on parts of the dress with a bit of masking in photoshop.
It is still one of my favourite wedding photos and managed to win a photo of the month award for one of the wedding sites a while back. Thanks for looking folks.

Neuschwanstein, qui pointe ses tours et ses flèches au dessus des épaisses forêts des Alpes bavaroises, paraît tout droit sorti d'un recueil de contes de fées, à tel point qu'il a inspiré les dessinateurs des studios Walt Disney pour "La Belle au Bois Dormant". Il est l'oeuvre du roi Louis II de Bavière, souverain excentrique qui fit construire durant son règne, dans la deuxième partie du XIXème siècle, plusieurs châteaux de fantaisie.

Neuschwanstein Castle is a 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen in southwest Bavaria. The palace was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat and as a homage to the famous musician Richard Wagner.

En la concurrida calle Istiklal, un signo del pasado contribuye a completar el ambiente que se respira al callejear por ella: el histórico tranvía, instalado en el siglo XIX para unir la plaza Taksim con el barrio de Beyoglu en Tünel, uniendo con el funicular subterráneo que nos lleva hasta el puente Gálata a orillas del Cuerno de Oro.
Este simpático tranvía, fué retirado de la circulación en los años 60, pero posteriormente fué rehabilitado más como incentivo turístico que como transporte, pero desde entonces es parte del paisaje de esta calle. Lo ves pasar abarrotado de turistas, y los chavales van colgados en el exterior, sólo para jugar, puesto que los ves divertidos e imagino que se pasarán las horas subiendo y bajando la calle agarrados como pueden.

En estas dos fotografías de los tranvías he querido aprovechar al máximo las posibilidades de la técnica hdr, y creo que han quedado muy llamativos.

auch abgesperrt. einen bmw muß man absperren. zuviele menschen mögen bmw. bmw ist ein tolles auto. im telefonbuch findet man nicht so viel. er blättert in diesem telefonbuch wie in einer zeitung. das telefonbuch ist verschmiert. seiten aus dem telefonbuch fehlen. das telefonbuch ist ein altes. ein neues telefonbuch sollte jeds jahr hierher, denkt calvin klein. mal sehen, ob paris hilton in diesem telefonbuch steht. wenn nein ist sie ja vielleicht mit britney spears in deren bmw
fortgefahren. alle lieben bmw.

Another one from my recent tiger adventure in South Africa.
This was shot on a late afternoon. It had been heavily overcast most of the day, but suddenly the sun appeared from below the clouds and brought everything to life. As cats do, this tiger immediately wanted to take advantage of the situation and climbed up a hill to find herself a nice spot on the rocks to enjoy the warmth.

Over on LEGO Rebrick they're currently having a Nexo Knights Mech competition; And this was (mostly) built for that.
Theres no shortage of beautiful, and massive Mechs over there. It's well worth checking out the entriees. But I wanted to take a different take. If you've been following along with my work, you've probably noticed I have a style, and certain themes I like to come back to; in particular - kids at play. And this riffs on that idea. Two kids, playing with their favourite Mechs, while the fate of Knighton Castle hangs in the balance. In a classic Red Vs Blue micro-style.
