I am just gobsmacked at how high these orcas can breach and leap, during the Shamu show at San Diego Seaworld.

How pathetic and pitiful is this? NOT ONE. On the up side, each time I look, Michelle's frownsmile reminds me what's important on Flickr. And that is never to let go of my principles and allow myself to be photgraphed looking like that.

Somehow, a Ferromex found its way into the mix at Galesburg.

More of my thinking, related to physics lectures I've seen on YouTube.

How do we get complex structures, such as our brains, out of a material universe? How does this happen if entropy rules? Entropy being everything becoming more disordered as time goes on.

One lecture said that complexity and order are two different things. The state of greatest order is not necessarily the state of most complexity, or of most interest to us.

This lecture said that the most interesting things come from the in-between state between total order and total chaos.

I recently thought of this analogy from black and white pictures. The pictures that were made from two kinds of dots. Black dots or white dots.

The greatest order, they say, would mean having all the black dots on one side of the picture and the white dots on the other. One side black, the other side white. Ordered, clean sharp, but not that interesting.

Next you start shaking things up and mixing the dots. You might get more interesting patterns as the dots mix, for a while, until total chaos is reached.

When you get to total chaos, the black and white dots are evenly distributed across the entire picture so it just looks like solid grey; not that interesting either to me.

In the middle, you can get complex and interesting pictures, but how are these pictures formed? Is there an artist somewhere in the process?

I love these kinds of questions.

How many meerkats can you fit into a close up picture?

Quite a few of them, when they all squeeze in together!

The entrance to the Tate's exhibition of British photography - get along there, but preferably at a quiet time as it gets quite crowded and some of the photos are quite small. Wonderful historic photography!

How To Install '69 LED Sequential Taillights

LED taillights and sequential turn signals are easy to install, and now they fit other vintage Mustangs besides '65-'66s

August, 2006

In our Oct. '04 issue, we showed you how to install Mustang Project's cool sequential LED taillights in a '65-'66 Mustang. This time we're switching gears by using a '69 instead of the earliest of Mustangs. Just like the first couple of years, the '67-'69s also have three-bar taillights, which makes these cars as receptive to this intriguing and easy-to-install upgrade.

For the most part, installing the LED modules in a '69 is much the same as with a '65-'66, but there are some differences, so the procedure takes a few extra steps and a little more time to complete. The main task is completely removing the taillight housing, which doesn't need to be done with the older cars because once the lens is removed on a '65-'66, the LED taillight-module simply plugs right in.

In any case, installing Mustang Project's kit is still easy on '67-'69s, and we were ready to go with cool Shelby/Thunderbird/Mercury Cougar-style sequential turn signals in about half an hour.
