A late evening visit to Embleton beach to capture one of the classic views of Dunstanburgh Castle, from the ‘black rocks’, was unfortunately greeted by a fairly uninspiring sky. I had hoped for some clouds that would catch the light as the sun set over my right shoulder. Alas all I had was this single lonely wandering cloud, which soon, too, disappeared 😖. Still, a very pleasant evening.

Ein wunderschöner Steg im Olchinger See zur Blauen Stunde, kurz nach dem die Sonne untergegangen ist. Es gab dramatische Wolken und tolle Spiegelungen, wie auch schöne Farben.
A wonderful jetty at the lake Olchinger See at blue hour, after sunset. There have been dramatic clouds and great reflections as well as wonderful colors.
This early morning shot flood the bird with light but basically I just got a silhouette of the bird and fence, Post photo aps helped pull just some detail out of the dark side.

Convict Lake is a lake in the Sherwin Range of the Sierra Nevada in California, United States. It is known for its fishing and the dramatic mountains (including Mount Morrison) that surround the lake. Its surface lies at an elevation of 7,850 ft. (2,393 m).
The lake was named after an incident on September 23, 1871, where a group of convicts escaped from prison in Carson City. A posse, from Benton, led by Deputy Sheriff George Hightower, encountered the convicts near the head of what is now Convict Creek. Posse member Robert Morrison, a Benton merchant and Wells Fargo Agent, was killed in the encounter, and Mount Morrison was named after him.
It has frequently been noted on lists of unusual place names.

It is one of the main, famous and most important avenues of Madrid, its origin dates back to the early nineteenth century and is based on the route that surrounded Madrid in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Today it is one of the main thoroughfares of the city of Madrid, where we find some, a important places, for example the stadium of Real Madrid or the kio towers.

At my delivery in Chehalis Washington, backed into my dock, then grabbed my camera to take this picture. Only 100 feet from the front of my truck. Tough job, huh?
note: My camera is set to Central time zone, but obviously Washington is Pacific, so two hours different.
Here's a link to the other shots I had to pick from. I liked all of them, but had to make a decision.
Golden Hour is when Sunlight can turn magical - it's not every day, but when it does, the sky can put on a fantastic show. You just need to be there to enjoy and capture it.

Took the camera and co to the beach tonight. Still trying to learn the ropes of LE with neutral density filters. Have had them for a long time but could never quite get a handle on them.

Tacoma Rail's two former CNW GP38-2's continue their yard work kicking out and sorting refers as blue hour kicks in. As the sun set the louds started to clear revealing Mount Rainier high above the landscape. As the engineer moved back he was throwing out Fussee's on the crossings and walk ways as evident by the one right below the engine, two more were just out of frame to my left. Tacoma rail is a literal maze of track but unlike most ports is extremely accessible and offers up a lot of neat angles as long as you can get the properly timed train.
CSX Q582 grinds upgrade approaching Marshville, NC with a lengthy train in tow enroute for Greenwood and eventually Nashville.
