There's nothing like a cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter night.

Hot chocolate fights the cold of the apartment- and wins.

I collected my friends from a course and had a drink while I waited for them.

Why, oh why, have I never made homemade hot chocolate before? This was so much better than any powdered stuff I have bought before. The recipe was easy, though I totally ignored the "vegan" part and instead used reconstituted powdered milk as we are a wee bit low on real milk. Also I cut the salt down to a pinch as per the reviews.

I am sold. No more powdered hot chocolate for this household!

I was out photographing a few signs on Harlem Avenue and in Des Plaines, so I thought I'd stop by here, probably the Borders within Chicago city limits I get to the least often. It's not actually IN Chicago, though...Norridge and Harwood Heights are two adjacent communities that are completely surrounded by Chicago, suburbs within the city:

Finally my weekend starts today. It's been a nightmare week at work so very pleased its over! My cousin was travelling down to Brighton and passing a service station near me so I popped along to meet her for a coffee and a natter. Bear had one of these Babyccino's he loves them as they are the perfect little sized cup filled with milky hot chocolate.
