One of my new years goals is to take a photograph every day.

The first picture for the year is of homemade hot chocolate and mini marshmellows from Joanie. It was the prize for finding the Christmas Potato! They lived in Idaho for several years - so instead of a pickle - they hide a potato.

Hot Chocolate are a British pop band popular during the 1970's and 1980's, formed by Errol Brown. The act had at least one hit every year between 1970 and 1984 inclusive, and their song "You Sexy Thing" made the Top 10 in three decades.

Hot Chocolate started their recording career making a reggae version of John Lennon's "Give Peace a Chance", but Brown was told he needed permission. He was contacted by Apple Records, discovered that John Lennon liked his version, and the group was subsequently signed to Apple Records. The link was short-lived as The Beatles were starting to break up, and the Apple connection soon ended.

It was in the disco era of the mid-1970's that Hot Chocolate became a big success. A combination of high production standards, the growing confidence of the main song writing team of Wilson and Brown, and tight harmonies enabled them to secure further big hits such as "You Sexy Thing" and "Every 1's a Winner", which were also U.S. hits, peaking at #3 (1976) and #6 (1979), respectively. "Every 1's a Winner" featured a distinctive distorted guitar riff by Harvey Hinsley using a Roland GR-500.

Roger’s Frigate has been a sweet staple in the community of Port Jefferson Village for 30 years. Starting out as a small ice cream and candy shop, over the years the store has quadrupled in size and now boasts over 3,000 square feet of delectable sweets, treats and confections! And while the store may have grown in size and variety, it still offers personal service and cheerful hospitality with a small town, local neighborhood feel.

Roger Rutherford is considered by many customers – as the “Face of the Frigate”. He has been with the Frigate for over 20 years and has established a cherished reputation and great rapport with both customers and employees alike. He is proud of the relationships that he has built with local customers and the family environment that exists within the Frigate. As a staple in the local community, he proudly boasts about kids who have worked at the Frigate in the past, returning years later as adults, bringing their own children in for an experience at the Frigate. Roger adds, “Many employees have worked at the Frigate for over ten years – so it really is like a family environment.”

When the store was renamed a few years ago, Roger went out to the community asking for suggestions for a new name. They all responded with the same answer – it should be “Roger’s Frigate” because Roger is as much of a fixture as the store is in Port Jefferson Village. And thus – the name was changed!

Welcoming local and new customers alike, Roger’s Frigate is a delectable destination in Port Jefferson village! No day in the village is complete without a stop into Roger’s Frigate for a sweet indulgence and a delightful experience.

Delicious flavored hot chocolate served on a glass big enough to warm up your hands and belly. It has chocolate syrup at he bottom of the glass and the different flavors, like vanilla or caramel, gives it that little more than a regular chocolate. (via Foodspotting)

Kidding, of course X-)

It's actually SB's signature hot chocolate - not coffee.

Conclusion: ALL SUCK.

Okay, we have more notes than that but we'll write up a post about that later.

Steve made us some Parisian-style hot chocolate after dinner. It was really good with the cookies I made yesterday. The glow is from the TV in the background.

What better way to ring in the cold weather season than with a steaming cup of hot cocoa and a peppermint rice krispie treat. Yum!

I finally had one of these at the Borders in my hometown, in the afternoon of a long day of post-Christmas shopping and errands. This store was actually a holdout as a Borders Cafe for sometime after all the Chicago-area stores had switched to Seattle's Best cafes, so I made sure to stop and have the special Borders coffee while it was still available. But it's been an SBC for a while now. My mom (that's her Wine Spectator magazine in the corner) tried a little of this.

What better way to enjoy the rains at my office, than dig into some hot chocolate to stay warm inside while it's wet outside. Of course, getting a hot bajji/pakora/samosa would have been my first choice :)

Orange cake free with coupon. The cafe worker was really frazzled/overworked even after another employee showed up, and put on peppermint bits instead of white chocolate, and offered to remake it--but I liked the peppermint much better than white chocolate, and wouldn't complain about something like that anyway! Wonder if I could request peppermint...

It's very common. A bit too cinnamon-y and sweet for me.

Mmmm...hot chocolate...in my new winter mug.

Well a lot has happened this past month! I have been working my butt off catching A LOT of overtime at INKtastic.com

We have had so many orders this month :)

To make it short, I sold the ef 50mm 1.4 I know that is not a surprise to those of you who follow me on here. After all, I go through glass like non other. I just can't find the right one for me. Until recently however. I have been saving for a few months now and from all the over time, I will be purchasing the ef 35mm 1.4 next week. I am stoked and I know I will not want to get rid of this lens. After that, I will get the ef 135mm f/2. I may or may not get a ef 50mm 1.8ii to fill the gap. I am just not a big fan of the 50mm range. After all of that, my lens collection will be pretty much complete.

My new years resolution is to go full frame by the end of the year and actually get a camera that doesn't break after taking 5 pictures this time.

So how is everyone? What are you all up to? Any new years resolutions?

p.s. I love the iPhone 4. <3
