The East High School Scarlets hosted the Ames Little Cyclones Friday night to kick off their football season. On July 31st, more than three weeks before their first August 24th game, a fire at Williams Stadium burned the Scarlet’s football uniforms and pads. An estimated $150,000 of damage was caused to the team’s equipment and about $700,000 to the structure. Despite the setback, support from other high schools and colleges made the season kickoff possible. East played a close game scoring four touchdowns in the fourth quarter, but finished with a losing score of 47-63.

Hajvery University hosted one day National Conference on Islamic Banking & Finance. The National Conference on Islamic Banking & Finance was attended by prominent speakers who shared their views with the Audience.
The keynote speakers discussed that interest in Islamic banking has grown considerably during the last decade. The main issues of concern are the conceptual framework and viability of interest-free banking, and the assessment of its performance and future. In a world where conventional interest-based finance is the dominant framework, Islamic banking faces many challenges that must be addressed.
The purpose of the National Conference on Islamic Banking & Finance is to analyze the past experiences of Islamic banks, to provide an objective assessment of their success and failure, and to discuss the contemporary issues and challenges confronting them.

An essential feature of Islamic banking is the prohibition of interest (“riba”). The interest-free Islamic banking is based on the concept of profit-and-loss sharing, where the lender shares losses with the borrower. The question is whether this system can be relevant in the world of revolutionary, technology-driven global finance. Islamic banks mushroomed across the world. Many conventional banks nowadays have Islamic windows or separate branches that deal with Islamic financial products. The fact that Islamic banks have been around for the last decades and continue to prosper is a proof of the viability of Islamic finance in a world dominated by interest-based banking.
Arnn Elementary hosted their annual Earth Day celebration on April 23 inside the Arnn school cafeteria. The students participated in an annual art competition to come up with a theme for Earth Day 2014 and to draw a picture that represents their selected theme. Command Sgt. Maj. Katrina M. December 23, 2013- Hajvery University (HU) hosted a lecture on The Role of Youth in Nation's Development by Honorable Mr. Asad Umar, Member National Assembly, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. HU as part of its Great Minds Visit HU! Series invites accomplished individuals from all walks of life to share their success stories with the students and inspire them to follow their dreams at a time when the youth of Pakistan have too many reasons to be demoralised and not enough to become agents of change.
Mr. Asad Umar, MNA and Senior Member of PTI, gave an energized talk to the HU Students on the positive mindset required by today's youth to overcome the numerous challenges that Pakistan faces. He encouraged students to focus on the Entrepreneurial Mindset and use the skills learned at the University to start their own businesses. He further added that the Students must become agents of change in their individual capacities if they want to see Pakistan as a prosperous nation in the future. He stressed that Education is the driving force of a Knowledge based Economy and the students sitting here today in the HU Auditorium are as bright and intelligent as any other student in the world.
“I’ve had the good fortune of travelling the world and being associated with some of the best Organisations & Universities world over and I can reassure you that the students sitting here today in the Hajvery University’s Auditorium are as bright and intelligent as any other student in the world!
Mr. Asad Umar also took oath from 30 male and female students who formed the new Executive Counsel of the HU Student Societies, an initiative by the University to give students a platform to hone their unique talents various fields. The 5 Student Societies are mentioned below. Each consists of a President and 5 Vice Presidents.

Dr. Muhammad Khalid Pervaiz, Rector HU, expressed that students are keen to play an active role in Nation’s Development and such events allow them to take inspirations.
Mr. Fahd Sheikh, Director, HU while speaking on the occasion expressed that encouraging these students to play a positive role in nation building is pivotal to the success of the country. The University is taking initiatives such as Great Minds Visit HU! Series to continually invite such people who can have a positive impact of these students mindsets. He also expressed gratitude on behalf of the University to Mr. Asad Umar and his team members who very kindly graced the occasion and had an engaging session with the students. The event concluded with refreshments.

Olathe KS is southwest suburban Kansas CIty MO. This King's Food Host has the perforated metal around the top, now obscured by stucco.
It has some brick, at rear, but not under the windows. No 45 degree corner angled windows.
The company's heyday was from about 1969 -1974. That's it.. This was Olathe Boot Co from pre-1981 to just a few years ago when it became Chux Trux.
It was a Cold and Wet October when Brands Hatch Played Host to the Formula Ford Festival in 2021 and Yet despite the Bad Weather it was a Very Important Year for the Festival as it was Celebrating its 50th Anniversary into the World of Motorsport.
Its Hard to Imagine that 50 Years Ago on July 2nd 1967 is when the First Official Race for Formula Ford took Place and with it came a Brand New Set of Rules Cars and Drivers all Competing to Earn their way into Formula 1 from Formula Ford.
With Such History and some Really Exciting Racing to look forward to Lets Turn our Attention to the Qualifying and See who Has come where and how this will Effect some of the Races Later Today.
BRSCC Formula Ford Festival (Qualifying Heat 1)
Formula Ford Racing Cars are built to be Very Nimble but also Very Fragile and when thease cars Race Close Together they Put on One Hell of a Good Show when they Visit Brands Hatch every Year and with this Year being the 50th Anniversary of the Series it made for a Special Weekend of History and Racing with a Tent in the Top Paddock Showcasing the Many Different Formula Fords thought History that Have both Raced and Won in the Hands of Many Great Former Champions.
Many of them all Have a Very Different Look and Design about them as each Driver and Team works together in order to try and Best Optimise the Airflow and Handling of their Cars.
During Qualifying Heat 1 there were Many Drivers all out there Pushing Hard and trying to get the Fastest Times they Possibly Could.
Lets Take a Look and See who took Pole Position for Race 1
In First Place was (Jamie Sharp) in his Medina Sport JL 17 with a Lap Time of 1:02.133 and a Top Speed of 69.98mph. Fantastic Driving there Jamie Really Pushing the Car and Giving it Everything you Have Got.
In Second Place was (Chris Middlehurst) in his Van Diemen LA10 with a Lap Time of 1:02.702 and a Top Speed of 69.35mph. Another Super Quick Drive from Chris for Second Place on the Grid and Only 0.569 of a Sec Gap.
In Third Place was (Jonathan Browne) in his Ray GR18 with a Lap Time of 1:02.744 and a Top Speed of 69.30mph. Fantastic work there Jonathan Really Working Hard to Keep that Formula Ford on the Track and Giving it Everything you Have Got.
Three Very Fast Drivers in Jamie, Chris, and Jonathan on Display after the First Qualifying Session and with Plenty More Action to Come it will be Interesting to see how Race 1 Develops. Will Jamie Sharp be able to Achieve Pole and take Home the First Trophy of the Day?
BRSCC Mazda MX5 Championship (Qualifying)
Next Up The Mazda MX5's Made their way onto the Circuit and with a Huge Grid of 34 Cars and Only One Man who could Achieve People Position the Battles During Qualifying for the Fastest Lap were Going to be Fast and Very In tense.
In First Place was (Steve Foden) in his MX5-MK1 with a Lap Time of 1:08.161 and a Top Speed of 63.79mph. Very Good work there Steve in Very Damp and Wet Conditions that was an Incredible Pole Position Lap.
In Second Place was (Brian Trott) in his Mazda MX5-MK1 with a Lap Time of 1:08.177 and a Top Speed of 63.78mph. Fantastic Work there Brian Pushing Hard and Making sure to Keep Pace with Steve.
In Third Place was (Michel Knibbs) in his Mazda MX5-MK1 with a Lap Time of 1:08.211 and a Top Speed of 63.75mph. Nice work there Michel a Very Good Drive for 3rd Position on the Grid.
Another Set of Fantastic Drivers in Steve, Brian and Michel All working Hard in order to ensure Victory Against their Fellow Competitors. Some Very Capable Drivers out there too. Good Luck to all other Competitors Competing and Keep Pushing Hard to ensure Victory. With More Action to Come on Sunday who will be able to Take Victory in Race 1? Only Time will Tell.

Next Up was the Mazda MX5 Clubman Championship and with Another Very Large Grid of 32 Cars this was going to be Another Really Intense Qualifying Session. With Every Driver Making there way out onto the Circuit and getting Ready to start their Flying Laps Lets Find out who came where and who will be on Pole Come Race 1.
In First Place was (Brad Jones) in his Mazda MX5-MK1 with a Lap Time of 1:09.188 and a Top Speed of 62.85mph. Well Done there Brad a Really Champion Like Drive from you to take Victory and Pole Position.
In Second Place was (Harry Storer) in his Mazda MX5-MK1 with a Lap Time of 1:09.415 and a Top Speed of 62.64mph. Very Well Driven there Harry Pushing the Car Hard and doing a Phenomenal Job of staying Close to Brad on Timing.
In Third Place was (Chris Dawkins) in his Mazda MX5-MK1 with a Lap Time of 1:09.540 and a Top Speed of 62.53mph. Another Great Drive from Chris Showing Really Amazing Skills and a Determination to Keep Hold of his Third Place.

The Mazda Super Cup Championship was Next onto the Circuit and with Mazda MX5-MK3's Being used this Time Around it was going to make for Some Very Quick and Stirling Action thought the Qualifying Session to see who could Achieve Pole Position for the First Race for Super Cup.
In First Place Taking Pole and The Fastest Lap was (Declan Lee) in his Mazda MX5-MK3 with a Lap Time of 1.05.952 and a Top Speed of 65.93mph. Very Well Deserved there Declan an Amazing Drive with Some Very Fast Laps and Dedicated Commitment to take The Pole.
In Second Place was (Samuel Smith) in his Mazda MX5-MK3 with a Lap Time of 1:06.059 and a Top Speed of 65.82mph. Amazing work there Sam Really Fast Drive to take Second Place.
In Third Place was (Jack Harding) in his Mazda MX5-MK3 with a Lap Time of 1:06.208 and a Top Speed of 65.68mph. Great Work there Jack Keeping Up with both Samuel and Declan and Staying Very Close Together in the Top Three of Qualifying.

"Artificial Intentionalities" is the title of the Ars Electronica Garden in Hong Kong hosted by the City University of Hong Kong, School of Creative Media, Neuro Design Lab (HK).
During recent decades, technologies raised and erased borders, hybridized and segregated cultures, while also collapsing distances and time zones. But we have too often remained trapped in a myopic, anthropocentric system of logic and ideals in our quests for new teleological aspirations, structures of controls, or even in finding new possibilities for collective participation and agency. Our capacity to shift our standpoint, to project ourselves in space and time, in reality and fiction, allows us to figure out the world from the vantage points of our ancestors, aliens, or post-human creatures like algorithms and robots. It is through this potential that we can expand our horizon to better accommodate the dynamic complexities at hand. Thanks to the recently acquired artificial intentionalities, artworks are quickly becoming sentient, cognizant, and responsive subjects through which we can improve our understanding of human societies and ecosystems. Ars Electronica Garden Hong Kong’s curatorial inquiry this year explores various paths to better understand the entanglements that surface in the tectonic interplay of divergent worlds, where robots challenge social models, artworks try to understand each other, and the faraway meets the nearby. We call for a DïaloG of curiosity and speculation, alongside a salutary cocktail of poetry, science, politics and conviviality.

Ahmed Raza Khan (Arabic: أحمد رضا خان, Persian, Urdu: احمد رضا خان, Hindi: अहमद रज़ा खान), commonly known as Ahmed Rida Khan in Arabic, or simply as "Ala-Hazrat" (14 June 1856 CE or 10 Shawwal 1272 AH – 28 October 1921 CE or 25 Safar 1340 AH), was an Islamic scholar, jurist, theologian, ascetic, Sufi, Urdu poet, and reformer in British India,[4] and the founder of the Barelvi movement.[5][6][7] Raza Khan wrote on numerous topics, including law, religion, philosophy and the sciences.
Early life and family
Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi's father, Naqi Ali Khan, was the son of Raza Ali Khan.[8][9][10] Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi belonged to the Barech tribe of Pushtuns.[9] The Barech formed a tribal grouping among the Rohilla Pushtuns of North India who founded the state of Rohilkhand. Khan's ancestors migrated from Qandahar during the Mughal rule and settled in Lahore.[8][9]
Khan was born on 14 June 1856 in Mohallah Jasoli, Bareilly Sharif, the North-Western Provinces. The name corresponding to the year of his birth was "Al Mukhtaar". His birth name was Muhammad.[11] Khan used the appellation "Abdul Mustafa" ("servant of the chosen one") prior to signing his name in correspondence.[12]
At the age of four he completed the recitation of the Quran[citation needed]. At the age of 13, he completed his Islamic Education as well as reached puberty after which he began issuing Fatwas[citation needed].
Khan saw an intellectual and moral decline of Muslims in British India.[13] His movement was a mass movement, defending popular Sufism, which grew in response to the influence of the Deobandi movement in South Asia and the Wahhabi movement elsewhere.[14]
Today the movement is spread across the globe with followers in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Turkey, Afghanistan, Iraq, Sri Lanka, South Africa, United States, and UK among other countries. The movement now has over 200 million followers.[15] The movement was largely a rural phenomenon when begun, but is currently popular among urban, educated Pakistanis and Indians as well as South Asian diaspora throughout the world.[16]
Many religious schools, organizations and research institutions teach Khan's ideas,[17] which emphasize the primacy of Islamic law over adherence to Sufi practices and personal devotion to the prophet Muhammad.
