SO, my family does a weekly Sunday dinner. We had a small group this time (8 people), so Josh and I thought it would be a good time to try hosting for the first time.
I think 8 people is the max I can handle. I don't know how my dad/step mom do 15-20 people every week!?!

I just came across this flick of a piece I did last summer with a strange background design type of effect I started putting down. I kinda liked it and kinda hated it at the same time. I ended up taking it out because I think it distracted from the piece itself. Thought this was an interesting little "behind the scenes" flick of what ended up being one of my favorite pieces of mine. I may give the idea another go.

A host club is similar to a hostess club, except that female customers pay for male company. Host clubs are typically found in more populated areas of Japan, and are famed for being numerous in Tokyo districts such as Kabukichō, and Osaka's Umeda and Namba. Customers are typically wives of rich men or women working as hostesses in hostess clubs.
The first host club was opened in Tokyo in 1966. In 1996, the number of Tokyo host clubs was estimated to be 200, and a night of non-sexual entertainment could cost $500 to $600. A women's studies professor explained the phenomenon by Japanese men's lack of true listening to the problems of women, and by women's desire to take care of a man and be loved back. [Wikipedia]
