Every year Brodsworth Hall host a thoroughbred car show. I have tried to take photos of the cars as a whole as well as focus on the smaller details such as the wheels, mirrors and bonnet ornaments.
Arizona hosts many types of hummingbirds. While some live in the state year-round, hummingbird migration accounts for the numerous types of hummingbirds flashing among the flowers of the Grand Canyon State. At least 13 species have been witnessed in southeastern Arizona alone. The source of much hummingbird migration is in Central and South America.
The name, hummingbird, comes from the humming noise their wings make as they beat so fast.
A ruby-throated hummingbird's heart beats from 225 times per minute when the bird is at rest to more than 1,200 times per minute when it is flying. Its wings beat about 70 times per second in direct flight and more than 200 times per second while diving.
Hummingbirds need to eat a ridiculous amount of food so that they don’t starve overnight, if they slept in a normal way. Instead, they go into a deeper state of sleep that’s more like a mini hibernation called torpor, where their metabolism slows right down so that they can get through the night.

L’hosta se repère facilement au jardin : une grande touffe au feuillage large et décoratif, où le vert et le jaune clair se marient pour le plaisir des yeux. Il se plait à l’ombre et si les fleurs sont de la partie, il tolérera aussi l’ensoleillement. Ainsi, il habille les sous-bois, les massifs et les bordures. Souvent, il prend place en pot, apportant sa touche à une terrasse ou un balcon. Contre la limace, son ennemi juré, il a aujourd’hui plus d’une parade à son actif !

The sun rises over Kaziranga Wildlife Sanctuary in the north-eastern state of Assam in India
Kaziranga is a wildlife santuary in the north-eastern state of Assam in India.It was established as a reserve forest in 1905 and is a World Heritage Site.It hosts two thirds of the world's great one horned rhino population.Kaziranga (area 430 sq kms) is a vast expanse of tall elephant grass,marshland and dense tropical moist broadleaf forests crisscrossed by four rivers including the mighty Brahmaputra.Apart from a rhino population of over 2040 rhinos the park is also home to tigers,wildwater buffalo,species of deer and numerous birds.

Aquest és l'antic Hostal Els Munts, a Sant Boi de Lluçanès, actualment una residencia d'avis.
Fotografies amb una de les càmeres de pel·licula més antigues que tinc, una Kodak Pocket del 1895. El format 102 va deixar de fabricar-se el 1949, i és impossible de trobar. Per sort tinc dos "spools", pel que he creat una imitació de rodet de 102: retallant el paper protector del usual format 120 i fent servir pel·licula de 35mm com a substitut de la pel·licula original, de mida força similar.

This is the Hostal dels Munts, a former hotel in Sant Boi de Lluçanès, now a nursing home. I remember eating here several times when it was still a hotel in the 80's.
Some photos with one of the oldest film cameras I have, an 1895 Kodak Pocket. The 102 format stopped being made in 1949, and is almost impossible to find, even expired. Luckily I have two 102 spools, so I created an imitation of 102 roll-film: cutting the backing paper from the usual 120 format and using 35mm film as a replacement for the original film, which was of quite similar size.
Ålgårds kvarn och såg finns omnämnd i den äldsta bevarade skattelängden för Norge, den så kallade gengärden från 1528. Där nämns ”Moghens på Aalgaard”. Samma Moghens betalade 1542 en tunna ål och tre tunnor mjöl i skatt, enligt den äldsta bevarade jordeboken, från ca 1542. Samma skatt betalas senare under 1500-talet av både Nils och Olof på Ålgård.
Både kvarn och såg nämns 1594 i den norska biskopen Jens Nilssöns visitatsböcker och reiseoptegnelser. Enligt texten är en såg nyss byggd, den enda sågen på Orust.

Mitt bidrag till Fotosöndag 2018-10-28 på temat lång exponering. Motivet är badbryggan i Kivik. Solen har precis gått ner bakom träden innan klockan slagit 18:00. Höstfärgerna målar den lilla byn. Tidens tand tuggar på, snart är det sommar, liv, rörelse, skratt och lek igen. Tills dess vilar den gamla badbryggan, vilar och njuter av havets kraft och skönhet.
