Each week, Amailah picks one book we've read and writes in her homework journal about it. For October, the assignment was to write about your favorite part of one of your books. Kids do this at different levels -- some dictate and the parents write, for example. Amailah likes to write her own and is getting very good at ear-spelling and even regularly gets in some book-spelling of some sight-words (words that aren't spelled phonetically). A parent then writes out the translation at the bottom of the page and Amailah draws some art in the middle.

The assignment was to create a collage about what we do as a family. As you can see the page was stuffed full - we actually wanted more room but had to fit everything on this one. :)

I'm enrolled in an Interior Design program here in Washington DC. While I can't use Second Life stylings in my projects and coursework, I can take those same assignments and try them out in Second Life.

One of the recent "challenges" was easy and fun, and I am pleased to say that I aced it. I thought it would be a cool thing to blog with furniture pieces that I have in Second Life.

This was an outtake from my photo session today for the site at www.longfellow365.com. By being one of the seven photographers for this project, I'm learning a lot about what a great city and neighborhood this is.

Every time I save my gif, the white edge become weird color such as light blue, thus I record it with the the original color but as a MP4 format.

Another homework assignment...this one was free choice I think, and my first attempt at drawing anything anatomical or biological at all. Because of the angle of my paper I think it ended up being a little bit skewed, though.
