The formal work of Julien Gardair radically transcends the materials, cutting and combining them in a practice that merges sculpture, performance and installation, establishing a vivid dialogue between the space and the piece. Camera Locus, Julien Gardair's site-specific installations, explore an abstract material: the light. It applies Julien Gardair's usual processes though, such as cutting, composition and linkages with the space: be it conceived for the former factory of the Invisible Dog art center in New York or for Gallery of the french Gobelins National Manufactory of tapestry, the starting point of each of these installations is an architecturally-significant context. Camera Locus 4 in turn reinvents a singular space, the homesession domestic space, with the same economy of means and adapting itself to the new challenges that this place creates.

Convierte lo cotidiano en extraordinario. Te tienes que fijar: a simple vista parece una habitación normal y ¡bam!, te das cuenta de que algunos objetos, o partes de ellos, están dibujados. Y entonces le pillas el gusto y enseguida encuentras su mirada en todo lo que toca, ese detalle loco que da un giro y rompe el equilibrio. Y que te cuenta historias, porque usa los objetos para urdir una ficción sobre libertades y frenos. Llegada de Belo Horizonte (Brasil) para ser la artista residente de Homesession en julio, en esta ocasión utilizará el propio espacio de la galería, moldeándolo como le sea posible y haciéndonos participar como habitantes temporales de su obra. El programa “homesession” nace con la idea de realizar un diálogo abierto entre el ámbito de creación del artista y el público de exposición de su obra. Un proyecto arriesgado que abre nuevas puertas de exploración con cada invitado. En esta ocasión, dentro del marco “Invited-One-Day” en el que se invita al piso a un artista concreto, han escogido a Mariokissme. Él mismo ha aceptado cuestionar la relación de lugar íntimo –espacio expositivo pero desde sus propias reglas invirtiendo del todo el planteamiento y generando el inicio de la discusión desde en su casa/espacio de creación. Mariokissme, como artista totalmente libre, se apropia así del programa y subvierte la idea inicial dejando que el espectador encuentre su propia paradoja.
