The weekly theme in the 52-week project is "home for the holidays."

Nothing so spectacular, except that I shot a hoverfly in almost January. Ahhh... it's good to be back in California.

Gingerbread men were my Christmas card theme this year. I used fabric for my border, and stitched the edges so that they wouldn't fray. The gingerbread house is a sticker I found on clearance. The cards that I didn't send in the mail had little gingerbread men cookie cutters attached. The cards were made with 8" x 8" cardstock so I didn't have to cut them down. The black gingerbread man in the center is a Shrinky-Dink colored with alcohol ink.

The tree we resorted to in the old house. Now serving as table decoration : )

It ALWAYS turns into wresting with these three... :-)

Well, I'm straying from the path a little. Whereas many of you are posting shots of fine and dandy turkeys strutting about in all their finery, I was not able to do that. Turkeys have never posed for me and, any time the camera comes out, run for cover. So, here's the next best thing: last year's 19lb. turkey, fresh out of the oven, still steaming: moist flavorful meat, cooked with bacon, giving it the slightest taste of crisped bacon, served with fluffy mountains of mashed potatoes drenched in a lake of home-made gravy, with carrots, parsnips and stuffing all clamoring at once for the attention of a watering mouth. For dessert, home-made apple and cherry pies freshly baked with a pumpkin pie served as well, all served warm with vanilla ice cream and- ... now that I've got your mouths watering, a simple Happy Thanksgiving will do!!! Hope you are all in good company to enjoy your holidays!

Happy Thanksgiving!

The Roberson Mansion was decorated to the hilt. They placed red up-lights around the central room to add a festive touch of color.

My family held Christmas dinner for us until late on the night of the 26th. We drove 800 miles straight, leaving Ann Arbor in freezing rain before sunrise, and got in at 8:30 Friday night. Even with all the celebrating we do in Ann Arbor, it never feels fully like Christmas until I'm at my parents' house. I'm so glad to be home.

The Roberson Museum & Science Center stands at the confluence of the Chenango and Susquehanna Rivers. It is the Christmas season and the museum is decorated for the Home For The Holidays festival.

You remember these games, don't you?!?! I do. *sigh* :-)
