Thought about getting a tattoo of this logo back in my early college years. Pretty happy that I decided against it.

After two weeks and what seems like a hundred emails, Sneezy left our house for his new forever home.

A friend of a friend who emailed a friend knew someone who wanted a kitten for her children. Through email, we got in touch early last week. We'd emailed back and forth for days and I was satisfied that she seemed like a genuinely nice person and that Sneezy would fit in well with her family.

When I got online this morning to discover an email from Sneezy's new mama saying that she gave birth to her fourth child a month early on Friday, my heart sunk. I thought for sure I'd have to begin from scratch, begging everyone I knew to pass on Sneezy's picture. I congratulated her on the birth of the new baby (healthy and fine, just a little early) and suggested that perhaps a new kitten in juncture with a new infant might be a bit overwhelming and I'd completely understand if she wanted to reneg on our agreement to adopt Sneezy.

Much to my surprise, she sent the email to her friend who was going make the arrangements to pick him up! A few more emails later and I had my confirmation that Sneezy did not lose his spot in this family.

We just handed him and all his kitten-y belongings to the friend and two of the girls who will be responsible for Sneezy's care. The girls are 11 and 12 years old and their brother is 14. I'm happy that he has a home with a family who will love him and care for him. I asked them if they didn't mind staying in touch and sending updates or photos every now & then and they said would.

When they left, I turned and hugged my kids and told them what a wonderful thing they'd done by bringing Sneezy indoors, helping him over his sickness and teaching him to be a loving companion.

Then a little part of me wanted to cry. I'm going to miss that little guy ...

My mom likes it when my dad dyes his hair; she says it makes him look younger. Before they went to some friends' Christmas party, my dad asked my mom to help him with the dye.

It was a messy, sitcom-esque comedy.
