Holiday bokeh - Macro Mondays
The ornament is approximately 2 1/2" high.
This and similar ornaments were made by children and hung on trees outside the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum in Madisonville, Louisiana.

Merry Christmas and HMM!
This "screen" bokeh was a happy accident that I came upon a couple of Christmas’ ago. I shot the ornament on the small Christmas tree outside on our front porch using our indoor Christmas tree lights through the window for the bokeh. The screen added the cool grid like bokeh.

Uploaded for this weeks Macro Mondays Theme - Holiday Bokeh. I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy festive season and to thank you for all for your comments, 'favs' and companionship during 2016.
Hand carved santa by Eldon Davis. On a sheet of glass lit by three candles and the Christmas tree. Adjusting the light while looking through the camera the whole thing came crashing down, glass, burning candles and bien sur, Santa. What we go through to get a photo out by Monday. Hope you like it.
There have been so many favorites this year that I can hardly decide ... The color red, crystal, mysterious.

for the Macro Mondays challenge "Holiday Bokeh" (Dec 19th 2016)
Bright lights, sparkle and glitter are just what we all need to cheer us through the dark days of winter. Festive lights, and bright, warm colours! And through the camera lens - plenty of lovely bokeh too.
Here I used the vintage Russian Helios 44-2 lens to give its distinctive bokeh in the background. And small (2cm) glitter balls resting on textured glass for the foreground effects. Bokeh all the way ;o)
Shot using the Helios 44-2 lens at min focussing distance of 0.5 and F4
The size of the glitter balls is in the first comment field
Happy Festive Macro Monday to everyone!

4 of 25 Days of Christmas
It’s National Cookie Day. The day was founded in 1987 by Matt Nader of the San Francisco San Francisco area in California. Nader and his then wife, Lori, started the Blue Chip Company, based on Lori’s cookie recipes. Begun in March 1983 in a store front on San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf, the Blue Chip Company was especially known for white chocolate macadamia nut cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and the black and white cookie.
***About 90% of United States households consume on average of 300–350 cookies per person per year. What’s the most popular Christmas cookie? That varies from state to state, but most polls agree that the classic sugar cookies, peanut butter blossoms, and chocolate chip cookies are top favorites.
***The patron saint of bakers and cookie makers is the 16th century saint, Honroe. It’s unclear if he was once a baker, but when he was named Bishop of Amiens, France, a baker’s wooden paddle for removing bread from a hot oven was said to have been transformed into a fruit tree.
***The Benedictine mystic, Saint Hildegard of Bingen, is noted for her “cookies of joy”. Described as a proponent of healthy eating, she devised a cookie recipe which, she claimed “will reduce the bad humors, enrich the blood, and fortify the nerves.”

This is my photo for Macro Mondays - Holiday bokeh. Some of my lovely Christmas decorations. HMM.
Craig wa not doing well this morning - feeling very breathless. I just had an update from Danielle. The doctor feels the breathlessness is a result of his anxiety and has recommended that he try to just go with the flow and try to not over analyse things. His bloods were okay, which is good.
Holiday Bokeh
For me holiday is going outside with my camera. These plants were blooming again because of warm autumndays. I found this small flowerhead still blooming and made this picture for Macro Monday holiday bokeh. The flowerhead isn’t larger than 3”.
Thanks for taking time to fave, comment and look at my work. I really appreciate.

Christmas decorations
Had fun with this one....scrunched up kitchen foil reflected in a black granite chopping board. I never expected this result.
I've added this to the group Your Best Shot 2016 as it was the first planned shot with my very first DSLR.
Homer Simpson tree ornament with the Christmas tree lights in the background providing the bokeh. HMM and Happy Christmas to all.

It's Junior's first Christmas and he is wide-eyed with excitement!
For Macro Mondays theme 'Holiday Bokeh'. The bokeh was achieved using a gold and silver tinsel garland with a light shining on it.
No snails were harmed in the making of this image. The tinsel garland and ornament were first set up and test shots done to check for the best bokeh and depth of field; the snail was then added to keep the shooting time to a minimum (although he seemed to enjoy crawling around on the ornament!).
And now I trust you will have the old Andy Williams Christmas song running incessantly through your head...which is what gave me the idea for this photo!
Money can not buy everything! For example, the joy of creating my own decorations for the Christmas tree. May you all have a Merry Christmas!

Miniature Teddy Bear. The best I could do with my wee point and shoot. Not sure I could duplicate it if I tried!

I really enjoyed last week's theme of holiday bokeh. This is the end of a light bulb on one of our outside Christmas trees with some cool holiday bokeh dancing around the backyard. HBW!
Inspired by #MacroMondays and the theme "Holiday Bokeh", I tried a macro of a tiny (less than 1 in/ 2.54 cm) spring from an old ballpoint pen. For an added personal challenge, I decided against bokeh balls ;) Well, just a few inside the spring.
A soft box lighted on two sides by standing Photogenic StudioMax lights triggered by an off-camera SB 800 strobe at 1/64 power. The base is a small piece of black reflective welder's glass.
Thanks for a fun year!
