A candle in front of a background of metallic red and green leaves (normally used as part of a Christmas flower arrangement) for Macro Mondays theme "Holiday Bokeh". The bottom of the frame to the top of the flame is about an inch.
Just a quick shot I took with my phone. This gave me such warm feelings seeing the snow covered Christmas tree. I thought I had to share it. :) Merry Christmas!

For Macro Mondays theme 'Holiday Bokeh'.
In keeping with my preference for photographing natural objects, I decided to take Christmas to the woods. The image shows a perfectly decayed holly leaf, just under two inches long. The bokeh was provided by dangling a tinsel garland behind the leaf. Fortunately, this little woodland is only frequented by sheep, and they took little notice of a strange person lying on the muddy ground waving Christmas decorations about.
Explored December 19 2016.

The Tamron 180mm is not the perfect bokeh lens, I had to use F 22 to fit some bokeh "bubbles"into the frame. HMM everyone :)
Thank you for all wonderful photos that took me to places and events I could never really see. Whenever I was walking through your woods, cities, markets... I've enjoyed myself, endlessly.
Thank you for taking me on this wonderful journey and for letting me see the world through your eyes. In doing so, I've learned something about you personally.
Thanks to your EXIF data, I've learned a lot about photography and photo gear.
Thanks to the challenge theme groups, I've become a much better photographer. If someone had told me three years ago that I would take pictures of rusty screws or shoes, I would have just laughed. That was incomprehensible to me at that time.
Of course, a big thanks to Flickr for bringing us all together in this virtual home.
I wish you all a healthy, successful and Happy New Year 2020.
The little flower of a pine tree, its own ornament. We decorate them with ornaments and lights 🎄 and they are in our homes celebrating with us, too! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

Oh woe is me. My least favourite subject; and one I never seem to get when it's being asked for.
I took about 70 photos to get this one, along with another very similar one, and so hope I've got the bokeh correct.
Dear Admin & Moderators of the MM Group. Could I have an early Christmas present - that it's what you want and it stays in the Pool?!!
Honestly if it's way out and I don't think it is, I'll find a tissue, but accept your decision.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourite. :O)
Sigh...me and my roommate at Emory U. probably around 1966. She is the blonde and introduced me to my husband with whom she grew up. She moved back to Sylvester years later and we took up BFF status again!
This is a little metal snowflake about 1 inch across, I used a little LED head torch to light it and create the bokeh.

A simple image of a candle with fairy lights in the background. Complex capture with very very high dynamic range of light intensities, a bit of focus stacking on the candle - have to be fast as the candle is burning down! Bokeh - focus blur on the fairy lights needed a 15mm aperture in front of the f/1.4 lens to get the circles reasonably small. I used an old steel washer mounted on card.
This angel figurine was placed about 10 feet from the Christmas tree to get this holiday bokeh. He is one of three angel musicians. There is also a harpist and violinist. Maybe we'll see more of them another time. :) (Macro Mondays Theme: Holiday Bokeh. 5D Mark III, 1 sec f/13 100mm ISO 250)
Rudelle, Rudolph is too busy at this time of year to pose for photographs, HMM.
Whatever festival you celebrate around now throughout the world have a great time, let us hope 2017 brings joy to you all.
