The Hangman is designed to surf off the tail like the Pro, yet it has the ability to hang on to impossible sections.
The Hangman comes with a Performance Thruster (92) or a Single Box Centre (96) set up, and a choice of Sunova Construction Options:
— All the width has been added to the front third of the board, which maintains outline curve through the middle for that “shortboard” feel.
— The bottom edge of the nose hardens to create good release as the nose hits the waterline while hanging.
— More flex built into the front third of the board helps it flatten during a nose ride.
— It can carry a nose ride onto much softer parts of the wave while still performing extremely well in small waves.
— The tail’s plan shape resembles the Pro, which is then combined with a wider nose.
Just when you think it’s all over and you have to step back or submarine, The Hangman kicks into gear and allows much longer hangtime.

About Justin Redman:
As perhaps one of the most exciting Longboarders to come out of Australia in recent years, Redman always excites the ground with his eclectic style of surfing.
As a competitive surfer he burst onto the scene as a fresh faced boundary pushing surfer in the mid 1990s and became one of the Sunova Team riders back in 1996.
A Longboarding aerial specialist, Redman was never blessed with the ‘perfect’ surfer physique, more muscular than stout. However his natural ability to see a wave earlier than most, he was able to take advantage of the best each wave he had to offer.
His notoriety increased after his victory in the Australian Longboard Championships at Yallingup in 2001.

Sunova Kiteboard Testing at Lakey Peak, Sumbawa, Indonesia:
A brief video of some recent Sunova Kiteboard testing at Lakey Peak in Indonesia by Kite ‘n’ Surf’s Rob Kidnie. Possibly the best wave-kiting spot in the world. Rob tested the Sunova KK5’10 and KK6’1, both with different foot strap positions.
These two Kiteboards were designed by Shaper of the Year, Bert Burger, with consultation from Rob.
Full balsa construction was used, including the famous Bert Burger parabolic rail, using 3mm balsa strips, balsa deck and bottom skins.
This is the 383-inch small-block installed in my '67 Chevelle wagon. It's simple and effective. A new belt drive and exhaust system will soon be added. This is the 545-horse 87-octane engine I designed/built for this car.
Predicting the rise of budding professional surfers, you can never be too sure. For the past year, the collective eyes and ears at SURFER have been tuned to the southern hemisphere, honing in on what we believe is one of the most talented and relatively unknown young surfers in the business today: 19-year-old Jadson Andre from Brazil. After watching Andre dismantle some big wigs in the Pro Junior circuit over the course of the past few seasons, we found ourselves morphed into true believers and awarding him a top 10 position in our 2009 Hot 100, moving him from relative obscurity directly into the industry’s spotlight.
