Hight Key Black and White
It is Hydrangea bloom time in our yard. I took some photos outside but it is too breezy. So, brought some blooms inside. I put them in an old alka seltzer blue bottle. I used a Lightroom Preset to converst the image to B&W. Then brought it into Photoshop so I could clean up the background. Brought the image into NIK Silver Efex and applied the High Key recipe to the image. Brought the image back into Photoshop and added the two borders.
I thought I'd get a little bit of practice in, with my lighting equipment, which is extremely basic, just daylight bulb continuous lighting. I tried moving the light around to see what differences it would create. I then processed them, to see the different effects I had created.
The light was directly in front of the camera, and closer to me, giving a stark high key look to the shot. Converted to black & white, and using the dodge & burn tools + multi layering.
I adjusted the levels in this picture so that most of the snow appears completely white. After that I masked out the vignetting in the corners.
This was the most challenging photo mostly due to my child wanting to move so mush and focus was difficult.
