In January 2009 I purchased a Nikon D50 camera which has been modified for infrared photography. The camera has had the internal infrared blocking filter replaced with an infrared filter. The camera cannot be used for color photography. Here is the web site of Jim Chen who modifies and sells these cameras.

A forlorn-looking 37261 rests in a line of stored locomotives at Barrow Hill. After withdrawal by Direct Rail Services, the future looked bleak for 37261 however it has recently been purchased by the Scottish Class 37 Locomotive Group (owners of 37025 "Inverness TMD") at the Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway and will be moved shortly. Despite being heavily stripped, the S37LG promise to overhaul the loco to its former glory as 37261 "Caithness" in the fullness of time. Taken with permission on 07/12/2014.

Mattatuck Trail, Warren, Connecticut.
This ice is on a small stream feeding into the Shepaug River. The stream doesn't have a steep grade and this is part of what makes interesting ice formations (slow moving water).
I took too many images during the hour I spent here and many weren't in focus although with ice it's tough to sort that out. This collection is a cross section of the different types of crystallization I found that day.
