Mattatuck Trail, Warren, Connecticut.

 

This ice is on a small stream feeding into the Shepaug River. The stream doesn't have a steep grade and this is part of what makes interesting ice formations (slow moving water).

 

I took too many images during the hour I spent here and many weren't in focus although with ice it's tough to sort that out. This collection is a cross section of the different types of crystallization I found that day.

It's the empty time of year here in Southeast Florida.

A perfect day at the beach. Lots of cloud movement, different types of clouds too.

 

Back to my higher contrast work. No subtlety this time ;)

Running shoe lit by a single speedlight on camera right @ 1/32 power. To control the beam of light a Rogue grid (45°) was used.

This anchor was pointed out to me by the guy who had placed it there. A keen photographer himself, he put it here to mirror the angle of split rock in the distance.

Live virtual effect with spot lights ; American Community School

A striking black and white portrait capturing a moment of quiet introspection.

Decided to convert all these to mostly B&W because they just didn't work for me with color.

Tired of being accosted by my old business associates outside the grocery store.

Color photo processed using the "high key" effect in Photoshop Elements.

Exposure set to ambient lighting, -0.7 compensation. AD600-Pro @ 1/8th power to lighten the model.

We just shot these today - I couldn't resist editing this sample tonight even though it's getting late...
