I shot this through my office window on another overcast day. I’m sure the bird was all right, but it looks high to me. ;-)

It wasn't raining today so Dan and I went to the beach. Another storm is on the way so there was high surf. The waves were amazing to watch but a little scary.

An infrequent service between Gravesend and Allhallows in March 1973. A vestige of it still operates, but run by an independent. I had previously dismissed this picture as not being good enough to upload - but a little tweaking worked wonders!

Mt. San Antonio (10,064' elev) with heavy snow forms a backdrop to Joshua trees and other high desert vegetation. March and April rains have brought out new green growth in the high desert and left snow on the mountains in Southern California. Photo taken morning of April 16th using a Canon PowerShot SX20, polarizing filter and tripod.
Simon Kerry and I had seen this locale on our recce on Sunday and had great hopes for it, but in the event the temperatures were to high (13º) for any meaningful exhaust. PKP Class Ol49 2-6-2 No.Ol49-59 heads past the woodyard at Włoszakowice with the 11:33 Wolsztyn-Leszno train.

She is now an accomplished piano/harpsichord musician, orchestra conductor and music professor and vice-dean at one of the best known and prestigious universities in Los Angeles.
I remember that she drove a '68 Pontiac Firebird 400 and lived in Rossmoor.

After a short hike over a narrow and natural trail my son (4 yo) and I visited the Hochfall waterfall near Bodenmais. We had lots of fun climbing over roots and stones down the gorge. The fall itself is not an easy one to photograph and you need a wide angle lens (in my case 24 mm) to put it into the right perspective. We had a funny, small picnic and happily hiked out. Back at the apartment we had a chocolate cup and cake.
