Another from last Sunday morning up on a very cold and windy Higger Tor in the Peak District.

Quite a few togs about, and managed to catch this chap taking the shot of the dawn, along with his patient partner.

Aren't the place names lovely!

This is just the sweetest route for an afternoon stroll. Its only 4k aprox, and can be easily done in two hours. Great views, return to car park, all your route visible in front of you, so that you can lengthen, or shorten it at will. Gentlle stroll downhill, jump the stream, then return by two easy uphill scrambles to shake the cobwebs off. You can follow the stream back to your car, or do the whole walk in reverse. It is magical !

Winter morning in the Peak District

A camera club night out to Higger Tor - the light was really difficult and these are the best of the bunch.

A sit down for a well deserved rest and cup of tea

Peak District - (almost same pose! Sigh!! ;-)

Me on the summit of Higger Tor with the Hope Valley in the background. On a clear day you should be able to see Castleton and Mam Tor in the distance.
