Sunset over Higgertor in peak district, i have cropped this down to hopefully add some impact. 1/80@11, 0.9 soft grad, this is how it came out of the camera with no tweaking.
On a foggy but beautiful day, starting from Hathersage train station walking a loop through Hathersage village, following to the east of Hood Brook, past Bronte Cottage, up to and along Stanage Edge, down to the Burbage, Fiddler's Elbow and Higger Tor, across to Callow and then back into Hathersage.
Sunday morning up on Higger Tor. A light dusting of snow meant it looked as if winter was on it's way back again.
A small window of light under the heavy cloud allowed a few images to be caught. The opposite direction to the image Winter Breathes Again, but with the same nice bit of light.
A bonus was bumping into Andy Hemingway (andy_AHG), who I've known (virtually) for a while now. Good to finally put a face to a username
Headed out on Sunday morning knowing it needed to be somewhere nearby as I needed to be back sharpish.
Landed at Higger Tor just as the sun was rising, so legged it up on top and just caught the end of the best colour! (overlaid slightly!!)
A good bonus was meeting Paul Newcombe up there, and if you take a look at his stream you'll see what I mean!
The first rays of the rising sun illuminate Higger Tor and brush the rocks of Carl Wark with pale red light.
