the Sheffield Country Walk long distance footpath as it passes the impressive Burbage Rocks. The halfway point sees the path cross Burbage Brook at Upper Burbage Bridge. The return leg traverses Higger Tor with its unique weathered gritstone rocks then crosses the pre-historic hill fort of Carl Wark. This is just the sweetest route for an afternoon stroll. Its only 4k aprox, and can be easily done in two hours. Great views, return to car park, all your route visible in front of you, so that you can lengthen, or shorten it at will. Gentlle stroll downhill, jump the stream, then return by two easy uphill scrambles to shake the cobwebs off. You can follow the stream back to your car, or do the whole walk in reverse. It is magical !
