A wonderful weekend dear friends ! : )
Seacliffe is an incredible harbour that has been carved out of the rocks of a feature known as the Gegan.
This was constructed in 1890 by Andrew Laidley, the then laird, who used a steam engine and compressed air to cut the stone.
It has been claimed that the harbour is Scotland's smallest!
In this shot you can also see Tantallon Castle in the background.
I havn't been able to get out for any macro hunting in a few days so I'm clearing out a couple of shots from the archives.

The forest has taken over and partially hides of what remains of Ballintemple House, a 19th Century Portico. The Estate home burned down in 1917.
A hundred years ago it was an estate of 7,000 acres and belonged to the Butler Family where it started life as a sanctuary for members of the Knights Templar on leave from the Crusades. The estate formed part of William Marshall's vast inheritance through his marriage with Strongbow’s daughter in the late 12th century. 500 years later, the land was granted to Sir Thomas Butler of Cloghrennan, a first cousin of the “Great Duke” of Ormonde. Sir Richard, the existing heir of the now virtually non-existing estate (a few acres), is the thirteenth generation in descent from Sir Thomas.

Incidentally, on that morning I had met Katia, a long-standing contact of mine on Flickr from Belgium, who is also in love with this beautiful region; we shared a pleasant morning together and then met by chance in this very forest.

Tra l'altro in quella mattina avevo conosciuto Katia un mio contatto di lunga data su Flickr dal Belgio, innamorata anche lei di questa splendida regione; abbiamo condiviso una mattina in un piacevole convivio e poi ci siamo incontrati casualmente proprio in questo bosco.
Io salivo all'Entrelor e lei arrivata dal Pellaud.
