A small two room grade school in a small town down in Oaxaca. The 'hill' in the backdrop is a dump. Some of the people in the town work by picking their way through the garbage to salvage anything of value.
The town is very poor and cannot afford to keep the school open so the children started growing tomatoes to sell to fund the school and pay the teachers. Problem is that tomatoes are a water heavy crop and they don't have enough water to grow them.
The friends that we were traveling with are part of an organization that goes to these rural communities and buys the mezcal they make, bring it up to the United States and sell it. The profits from the sales are then sent back to the communities in Mexico to build schools and civic buildings and projects. When my friends heard of this school - they reached out and now the kids are growing agave plants that do well in dry conditions and then they sell the plants to my friend and the school stays open. Agave plants are in high demand and used to make mezcal.
Happy Thursday to you.

Jippo is helping Ruska pick some mountain ash berries.
I told them not to pick the big red toadstool in the background. It is a fly agaric though it has rained so much that the rain has washed away the white spots.

I needed help today as there were no volunteers to do a silly walk for me.
The We're Here group members are visiting the The Ministry Of Silly Walks group.
“Well, that wasn’t very exciting.” Exclaimed Bertie as they watched the man put away his picture taking thingy on four legs.
“No, but then it never is.” Agreed Barnaby.
“It is good that it is over for now we need to get to work.” Said Sky looking at all his friends.
“What work is that, Sky?” Asked Posh Bear.
“Icecap, we have to help Icecap.” Said Sky.
“What help does he want?”
“He says it is too hot for him, even in his cold place. We need to make things colder for him or I think he’ll want to go back to the white fields he came from.”
“I see, so what is your plan?” Asked Posh Bear.
“Well, we need ideas mainly, on accounts I am flush out of ideas right now myself. I did think about using this white fluffy stuff and try to convince Icecap that it had fallen from the sky and was cold.” He replied.
“No, I think you are on a loser there, Sky. It looks alright, but it just doesn’t feel cold enough and it sticks to the fur. Have you suggested that he leaves the door open of the cold place?” Asked Bertie.
“He has tried that, sadly it didn’t seem to work for it was hotter outside than inside his cold place and all that happened was his cold place warmed up. Nice try Bertie.”
“We need that white stuff to fall outside and some of the clear slippery stuff that follows.” Said Posh Bear thinking aloud.
“We know that, Posh, but we do not have any.” Replied Barnaby.
“Could we learn anything from the man, I mean, how does he keep cold?” Suggested Posh Bear.
“Posh! The man doesn’t have fur and what is more he doesn’t move fast enough to get hot. No, you are on the wrong track there.” Said Sky shaking his head.
“He could go with you when you go out on the man’s two wheeled thing, Sky. That should cool him down a little.” Suggested Bertie.
“I agree Bertie, but the man doesn’t use his two wheeled thingy that often. Icecap needs to be cool all the time.” Said Barnaby.
Sky looked about from one bear to the next grinning happily.
“Am I a genius, or am I a genius? I always said I was a genius.” He said loudly.
“Yes, you always said you were a genius, Sky. I remember that you said it often so I don’t forget it.” Said Barnaby.
“Panic over, I’ve got this covered. Let me see if the man has an order in and if so Icecap is going to be in pure luxurious heaven. I just can’t think why I never came up with this idea sooner.”
“What is your idea, Sky? You’re not going to do anything we’ll regret, I hope.” Said Barnaby looking worried.
“No, Barnaby, not at all. What I need to do is order a lot of large tubs of that white cold stuff the man eats. We could put them in Icecap’s cold place with the tops off and he could lie and lick as he wants. We can try and get some that is fish flavour so he can have the best of all worlds.” Said Sky looking proud of his idea.
“Brilliant, you are a genius, Sky.” Said Barnaby.
“Do you think it will work, Posh?” Asked Bertie looking slightly doubtful.
“It is worth a try as we don’t have any other ideas at the moment. Come on let us see if the man has an order started that we can add on to.”
Ten minutes later the bears gathered round Icecap’s cold place waiting for him to answer the door.
“Hello fellas, what can I do for you?” Icecap asked stepping out and closing the door behind him.
“I have sorted things out, Icecap, and soon you’ll be nice and cold again.” Said Sky.
“Thanks Sky, but I have already sorted it out. The problem was all the visitors I have that kept me standing at the door chatting, so now I close the door behind me and it stays nice a cool. Thanks anyway.” He said going back in the cold placed and closing the door.
“Sky, I think you need to change the order as I honestly doubt that Icecap could have got all those tubs of white cold stuff in such a small place. I think that 99999 is just too many.” Said Posh Bear.
“Posh, is 99999 a lot then?” Asked Sky.
“I think so, it made the man’s ordering thingy gulp and light up anyway.” Replied Posh.
