Un-Happy Bench Monday!

Denver and Rio Grande Western GP40 No. 3083 is the east unit on a helper set at Minturn, Colorado, in July 1984. Behind No. 3083 is a GP40-2, a SD40T-2, a SD45, and two more SD40T-2s. One track over in front of Minturn’s small enginehouse is GP35 No. 3043. These large helper sets were used on the steep 3-percent eastward grade up Tennessee Pass out of the crew change town of Minturn.
I see very bad things happening in the world. With each passing day humans are increasingly trapped in their monotonous life full of stereotypes, many people need help. The world is depressed, full of things and broken people asking for help. Do not let life lost its meaning. Make different, get to see the sunset, the laughter of the shape of the clouds, observe the stars. Help someone who needs it. Because life and a series of small details, not waste time just existing. Stop being an existence and start living for real. There is more to life than just living. The world is too big to fall in conformity. Cares more about people, the world needs love, and unfortunately people have forgotten the meaning of love. Just live ...
This bear grabbed a salmon and ate it while sitting in the water along the riverbank. He used the downed tree trunk as his table. Sometimes you have to make do with the things at hand :-)

Warning sign found at the beach, but I think when you can only see the hands waving, it might be to late to help that person or.....?
They might have known perfectly well how to patch a hole, but they didn't mind the help. At all.

After bringing in the trash train a three unit set of Rio Grande tunnel motors rests in the yard at Helper.
The power for Union Pacific’s LJP45 “dirt train” local out of Helper, Utah, sits near the locomotive facility on the frigid, cold night of December 1, 2004. A pair of Rio Grande SD40T-2s are mu’d with a UP SD40-2 and a UP SD60M.
The establishment is owned by Mr. JD Russel, a distinguished gentleman with rugged good looks and dark hair. It was rumored that he had once stood alongside the President during the famed charge up San Juan Hill, a tale that added to his allure. Whenever he was not engaged in assisting patrons, he took pleasure in offering a complimentary piece of hard candy from his extensive display.
This day, as I approached the entrance, he could be seen diligently sweeping the walkway. Upon noticing my presence, his face brightened with a warm and cordial smile as he stepped forward to hold the door open. “Good afternoon, Miss MacKenna. A truly splendid day, is it not?” he inquired graciously. I responded with a smile, expressed my thanks, and offered a playful wink. “Indeed, Mr. Russel, it is a most delightful day,” I replied.
I hope you enjoy my photos ♥

Hello dear visitors,
In this exhibition, I invite you to experience the concept of "consciousness" through photographs. Let's discuss and debate the sum of our experiences, feelings, and awareness, and together question our intellectual and emotional processes as we oscillate between boredom and passing the time.
Throughout the flow of photographs, I hope that internal and external stimuli, along with some symbolic elements, will invite you to reflect on what motivates you in your consciousness during a spontaneous day.
I hope you have a pleasant time, keeping in mind the idea that the artist is the embodiment of "consciousness," deeply feeling all the pain of life and returning the surreal universes they create to art lovers through a work of art.

I managed to do some garden work during my lunch break and Sethi helped until he had enough of leaves falling on his head. :)
In the summer of 2003, Crawford Hill on BNSF’s Butte Subdivision out of Alliance, Nebraska, featured at least three sets of Cascade green three-window EMD SD60M helper sets, mostly equipped with a fuel tender. On July 22, 2003, a trio of these former BN EMDs rolls downgrade at Breezy Point just west of Belmont, heading back to Crawford after pushing a BNSF coal train over the grade.
Help! This year is running much too fast! It has only just begun and six days are already over! Slow down year!

A three unit helper composed of a pair of SD70ACEs bracketing an SD40-2 are at Muir, MP 127.1 on Montana Rail Link's 2nd Sub mainline and the west end of an 8685 ft passing siding. The three units are have just cut off the rear of a westbound manifest that has made the climb to the top of 5702 ft Bozeman Pass and is already in the 3652 ft summit tunnel just out of sight to the left. The helpers are starting back light headed east downhill to Livingston where a loaded coal train is awaiting their assistance for another run up the grades of the old Main Street of the Northwest.

The current 'cost of living crisis' is just the tip of the iceberg of coming problems for our society. Ukraine is basically the breadbasket of Europe and together with grain from the invading nation, Russia, we will be seeing massive shortages of staple crops and increasing food prices for all. Millions will be choosing between food and shelter or warmth. The top six energy companies in the UK made £1bn in profits last year and yet energy prices are going through the roof - my own energy bill has risen by 124% and I already strictly keep my energy use down for the sake of our planet!
There is enough wealth in this world to end poverty on this scale. When should a humane society consider that food, water, shelter and warmth are basic human necessities that everyone ought to be entitled to? Instead of taxing wealth, however, we take from the ordinary folks and the poorest suffer. I'm not expressing my politics here and you can draw no conclusions from my thoughts on that, but I am expressing my basic humanity. We are one species sharing one tiny planet in the vastness of space. Why do we not care more about our fellow humankind? When do we consider that we actually need to help each other?
Stay safe my Flickr friends.
On the soggy marathon drive home from Salt Lake City, I caught the rear-end of a M-HELLAU (Helena-Laurel freight, which runs as needed) as it worked its way up Bozeman Pass at Trail Creek Rd. The Helper set on the rear included the SDP40, so a brief detour to shoot them at the west portal of the Bozeman tunnel.

During most of the days of the pandemic lockdown, we lived in a small town northwest of Arkansas. While it was the perfect place to hunker down, there were few famous landmarks to explore. But while it lacked some of the larger landscape staples, it had a lot of small lakes and forests that we could access.
One of our favorite spots to explore was a small lake near our home. I am still unsure whether I should call it a lake or a pond. While one side of the lake had a small airport, the other side, where wolf creek fed the lake, looked perfect. I used to visit this location often, especially after a storm, hoping to catch a dramatic sky, but the storms there often come with massive amounts of rain that turn the creek muddy. But one time, I was able to be there with clear water while the sky still had some cloud remnants from the storm that passed.

Rio Grande SD40T-2s No. 5390, 5345, 5342, and 5392 await assignment in Helper, Utah on May 22, 1999.
A Utah Railway coal empty is pictured climbing into the Gilluly, Utah horseshoe the morning of Aug. 30, 1998. Minutes out of Provo, the road power experienced a locomotive failure. Two locomotives were dispatched from Martin to rescue the stalled train, waiting at Castilla. A point helper on a Utah Railway coal train is rare in the extreme. I was super lucky to catch it.
