Part of my series "Monty Don Says Hello" (to be continued). Monty says, "now it is a good time for doing things in the garden you always wanted to, but never dared." Quite. 7Artisans manual lens at F1.2.
A wilson's warbler that greeted me this morning. Cute little guy. Can't deny, that's a pretty fine hair piece he has.
Been about a month since last I put up a pic. Figured it was time to at least introduce the new year. Hello there! :-)

As we waited for our friends at Manly Wharf we saw this little fella curled up in the tree.
The common brushtail possum (Trichosurus vulpecula, from the Greek for "furry tailed" and the Latin for "little fox", previously in the genus Phalangista) is a nocturnal, semiarboreal marsupial of the family Phalangeridae, native to Australia and invasive in New Zealand, and the second-largest of the possums.
Like most possums, the common brushtail possum is nocturnal. It is mainly a folivore, but has been known to eat small mammals such as rats. In most Australian habitats, eucalyptus leaves are a significant part of the diet, but rarely the sole item eaten. Its tail is prehensile and naked on its lower underside. The four colour variations are silver-grey, brown, black, and gold.
It is the Australian marsupial most often seen by city dwellers, as it is one of few that thrive in cities and a wide range of natural and human-modified environments. Around human habitations, common brushtails are inventive and determined foragers with a liking for fruit trees, vegetable gardens, and kitchen raids. Its once vast distribution has been greatly affected by drought, epizootic disease and intrusion of invasive mammals into its habitat.
Dame Edna Everage, often known simply as Dame Edna, is a character created and performed by late Australian comedian Barry Humphries, known for her lilac-coloured ("wisteria hue") hair and cat eye glasses ("face furniture"); her favourite flower, the gladiolus ("gladdies"); and her boisterous greeting "Hello, Possums!"
Bit of a flap this one, made more difficult by parking enforcement officers handing out tickets. Thanks to Andrew who drove and stayed with the car. The 802 was approaching as I ran onto the platform, so a hurried shot.
Normally at this point I would be uploading a road photo, but times have changed......... Instead I am uploading a photo taken from the garden of my new house, yes, the house came with a landscaped garden, I added the solar lights, the small tree in front of my tool shed started turning orange prematurely, more because of the drought than anything else, it should still have been green in early September, I didn't change the colors.
Thanks for the comments and faves, another change from the past is that I will continue to upload from my travels as much as I can, but they will still be photos from Mexico for a while.

I'm not having the easiest of times at the moment so will be on and off Flickr over the next week or so. I'll do my best to catch up with comments today but I apologise if they're brief and if I don't have time to look at all your recent uploads. Hope you all have a lovely day and here's a cute little duckling to start the week with!
