Hello to all my Flickr friends!
I just wanted to let you know I am still in the land of the living. I am very busy with my own business and taking care of my elderly Aunty, so it doesn't give me 5 minutes spare to do any Photoshop these days.
I miss you all and hope that everyone is happy and healthy.
I managed to get away for a night in Sydney last month to see Sheryl Crow & Melissa Etheridge in concert, this is a selfie before the gig.
Take care my friends

Ah yes. Hello darkness my old friend. Night before it's even 5pm. And once again, thanks to British Summer Time ending and the clocks going back, we've made winter even more miserable than it needs to be because of some mad form of national sado-masochism that dates back to 1916 and following what Germany did at the height of the First World War for greater farming output.
During the Second World War, we even had 'Double British Summer Time' that ended after the war. Some of us were even 'lucky' enough to experience the experiment between 1968-71 when the clocks went forward but were not put back, in an effort to standardise European times as we began the process of entering the Common Market.
Here in Scotland, being further north it meant sunrise coming at around 10am and having to go to school in the morning in pitch darkness with everyone dressed from head-to-toe in bright orange reflective/luminous garb and looking collectively like extras out of a Ready Brek TV ad (www.doyouremember.co.uk/memory/ready-brek-advert).
On the bright side (no pun intended), at least in the new digital era the clocks and timers do all the changing themselves, unlike in the good old/bad old days of analogue, where for at least a day or two alarms would go off at the wrong hour and video tapes were full of news reports and soaps you had no intentions of recording.

No new toy for Katie, who happily steals Lucy when the latter is not playing with it herself. Just Katie's sweet face as she sits in the kitchen, hoping for a treat. ;)
I've been alone with you inside my mind
And in my dreams I've kissed your lips a thousand times
I sometimes see you pass outside my door
Hello, is it me you're looking for?
I can see it in your eyes
I can see it in your smile
You're all I've ever wanted, and my arms are open wide
'Cause you know just what to say
And you know just what to do
And I want to tell you so much, I love you....

Since there are no really good minifig scale Lego phones I had to make my own.
A cat in a New York Greenwich Village window. The poor thing has been dyed pink and put in a Hello Kitty t-shirt. He doesn't look very happy at all with his lot in life.
In fact that's more a "pleeeease" than a "hello". It's Fynn's way to look at me when he wants something, usually treats or someone to play with him. In this case he wanted me to take him with me when I left the house this morning for a walk in a local park. Fynn loves the car and he even walks on lead if necessary. I'm quite sure that he should have been a dog and someone made a mistake. But Fynn is a cat and people in Germany are not used to cats walking around on lead in parks, so sorry Fynn, you have to stay at home !
Vintage quilts, wild roses, old telephones, and wooden Scrabble letters... how much better can you get? =)
I've seen so many lovely shots with Scrabble letters (or something similar) recently, I decided to try my own hand at it. (for example... and for another example...) They're so much fun to play with!!

Hannah and I's diet consisted mainly of pancakes whilst we were in Canada last summer so this was a natural fit for our February photo. Shrove Tuesday falls on 21st February this year so do yourself a favour, follow this recipe for super fluffy pancakes, get some fruit and fill your bellies one morning.
